About
Traditional, friendly and welcoming, the Old Anchor has been a McMullen pub since 1892. Locally brewed real ales, cocktails, popular wines, world lagers, fantastic entertainment, live Sky and TNT Sports, darts, pool table and a great deal of cosiness all make this proper, two-bar quality pub a delight to visit. Our event space is ideal for groups, meetings, or privacy. It’s available from early until late so if you’re interested in booking us for your event, get in touch!

A really last-minute decision to go to the pub, we hadn't booked, but were lucky enough to get the last sunny table.
Really easy at-table ordering, and quick service from two lovely ladies. We stayed much longer than we'd planned to, had a great time, and we'll be back.

In the high street, used by locals, average prices and food - good atmospherre. You can sit outside,but part of this is on the main road

fantastic staff who are known as charlies angels to the locals , landlady is very savvy when it comes to running a very nice atmospheric pub with plenty of entertainment for young and old ..long may it continue

Fantastic friendly pub lovely staff great choice of beers a proper pub drink and get merry not many real pubs left but this is up there with the best

Good local pub, friendly staff, and a variety of different beers on tap.
Has a seating area outside, and there was a mobile pizza van in the car park that seemed very popular.

Nice pub, Nice Staff - Friendly customers - No food
Very pleasant evening
This pub has two bar areas - One for darts and games… And one for chatting and drinking
The staff are so nice… The customers friendly and kind
Lovely evening
There is no food but lots of takeaway shops nearby.
However this is a lovely local xxx
And when you consider your children only want McDonald's… And your husband might want a curry… Then there are tables outside where you can drink and bring your takeaways/picnics - everyone is happy xx

nice atmosphere as always, shame they dont do food, nice and local when visiting family, staff always friendly, my brother loves the fast they do "proper guinness", not ice cold like most pubs now
