About
Rebuilt in 1975, the Maltsters has been part of McMullen since 1898. Nestled near Cheshunt station, the Maltsters is almost impossible to stroll past without dropping in for an after work tipple. A traditional two-bar pub with pub games and Sky Sports in the public bar and a more sedate, relaxed pace of life in the lounge. In either bar – and alfresco should the sun shine – you can look forward to locally brewed real ales, world beers and fantastic menu for you to enjoy.

I went to the Maltsters on my own, had a pint and ordered Beef & Ale Pie, with Peas and Mash and Gravy. When the meal arrived it looked scrumptious on the plate, it was hot and well cooked and presented by Simon. Didn't have to wait long. They have an extensive menu and also do 2 for 1 meals. Buy 1 get the cheapest free. Would recommend The Maltsters for a meeting with a meal or just a lunch with friends.

Popped in here whilst cruising the River Lea, needed a place to rest after a long day trying to find somewhere to rest! Very few places in Cheshunt will allow dogs but as long as they are not serving food - dogs are welcome.
I had a coffee which really wasn't anything much to be honest, from a machine and the blend was "odd" - however the Guinness more than made up for it. Well drawn with a clear black body and a thick white top about 1 inch deep and just over the rim of the glass - perfectly chilled.
The following day (today in fact) I stopped to grab a bite, the food choice is fairly standard but the food is good and comes in fair quantity - they do also have a BOGOF so well worth it!

This pub is nicely situated near to Cheshunt British Rail station, with a car park too. Friendly Staff and excellent Drinks Menu. I'm often here waiting for people off of the London trains.
