Jun 2021 • Family
Attended for a prebooked afternoon tea which is currently takeaway due to covid-19 but this didn't effect quality.

The staff in the cafe is the most miserable duo I've ever met in my life. Regret spending my money there

Lovely park. Beautiful scenery. Kids will love the animal area, climbing hill, maze and climbing trees. Nice cafe too.

The cafe was nice with prices clearly visible, I read a earlier review and was shocked the park got a bad review just because the customer wasn’t happy with the price he paid for his hot beverage! I’m pretty sure the park nor the cafe will miss him or his custom. The park is great place for dog walkers, children and adults alike of all ages seem to have happy faces there must be the nature and people there.

Well maintained country park..with cafe

This park, about 2 years ago, had the benefit of Lottery Funding and as the site of a former Kings Palace, (swopped for Hatfield house by the king..hunting was better here!), has much history to enchant..all well posted on notices throughout
the park.
Well laid out, with proper paths..as title, some of the oldest impressive Cedar trees, I suspect in the whole of the UK.
Not a massive area, but enlarged about 10 years ago, with a large extension of land, donated from memory, by the Sainsbury family trust. Well worth a visit..also a small zoo for children on site.

This is a beautiful park. Been going there my whole life and it's just as lovely as it was when I was a kid 40 plus years ago.

Wonderful for toddlers

So it doesn't have a playground but it has a few model animals to climb on, free parking, very decently priced nature centre with lots of animals (£2 an adult), a maze, a decent enough cafe, ponds, wildlife and a weird hill/slide play thing that kept our daughter entertained. Plus loads of children and dogs. My daughter was in heaven running around. I really commend the council for making this one of the few parks that is available to everyone regardless of budget.

Dog walking
Feb 2020
We have a dog that is in a wheelchair so this place is brilliant for him as good paths & mainly flat for him to get around with ease. We didn’t stop for drink in the cafe as was busy & we were running out of time. Nice to have free parking & in reasonable condition.

Dog walks and picnics. No playground
Sep 2019 • Family
Lovely for a romantic walk on a Sunday or a family picnic in a field on a hot summers day. Real contrast between open fields and wooded pathways. Rich in heritage but on the smaller side. A nice little cafe slap bang in the middle rounds this small but well groomed park off nicely. Beware - no playground for children - take a ball or bike. Large car park to be found.
