- StanBrynmawrBrynmawr, United Kingdom722 contributionsNice beach, but little else.Visited from Puerto Azul by taxi. Beach is large open bay, with lots of payable sunbeds. Sand is very soft and fine, and I very popular. Water was ok for swimming but does go quite deep within 10 metres. Swimming area is cordoned off, so safe for swimming. Most disappointing part is there is very little in this area. A few basic touristy shops, a couple of bars, and a small supermarket. Looks a little run down to be honest. Didn't feel like a return visit.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 8, 2023
- MCoeyIpswich, United Kingdom207 contributionsLovely beach with great views day and nightWonderful beach during both the day and at night with pretty views all around. Not the clearest sea on the island, Anfi beach is better but still loved it here. Sea was pretty calm and easy to swim in. Nice clean beach with a few bars and restaurants surrounding it. Close to the marina too. Would definitely recommend a visit.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten March 4, 2024
- FilmfairyTimbuktu, Mali76 contributionsNot a stylish or smart resort .. 3 starReview from Feb 2024 .. Man made beach which is perfectly fine and made .. Sea is lovely, loads of loungers & parasols. No side tables .. reasonably priced .. Sand is good too .. Surrounded by naff beach bars selling fried breakfasts, chicken & chips etc… Food was fine everywhere but nothing of note and catering for the ‘I don’t eat foreign food ‘ types Not a place where you’d sit with a nice glass of wine or cocktail and some quality fresh seafood in your nice holiday clothes as many people are topless - both sexes.. I think we were given the wrong impression and expected a stylish resort .. it is not . Blackpool with sunshine I’m afraid .. Tacky . But weather is fab and a big clean beach .. So that’s the draw .. We hired a car for a few days to explore further ..Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 7, 2024
- Pj TravelsBirmingham, United Kingdom308 contributionsSaturday on the beachSpent the day down in the beach , lovely soft sand and plenty of sunbeds even though they are in lines . Two sunbeds and an umbrella are 10.50 euros and you pay by card only so beware . Plenty of places to eat around the beach so it depends on really what you want . The swimming is safe as there is a boom across the harbour area so no jet ski’s allowed so nice for those who want to swim in peace . Plenty of families on the beach today as it was Saturday enjoying the great weather 25 degrees and not a cloud in the sky 👍😎.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 4, 2024
- Mark BHeathfield, United Kingdom219 contributionsPleasant and quieter part of town but with a lack of open facilities and an abundance of hard-sell, over-priced shops. After wandering round Mogan Mall, we went down to the harbour and beach at Puerto Rico to chill out and find some of the Red Rock Crabs that we'd heard about. We discovered some parking at the harbour (at the end of Calle Doreste y Molina) that wasn't too pricey (3¢ per minute so around €4.50 for the two and a half hours we stayed there) and then went over the harbour wall and to the right where we found loads of the crabs crawling along the rocks, fascinating to watch! But that didn't hold our attention for too long so we came back over the wall and wandered round the harbour-side shops, which were staffed by the usual hard-sell staff that you find all over Gran Canaria. Unfortunately the prices were also quite steep, even with the obligatory "good discount" so we left those alone. In the end, we sat by the beach and enjoyed a drink in the sun where we also enjoyed the company of a couple of varieties of Canarian lizards. This is a quieter and pleasant part of Puerto Rico and definitely worth a visit but the only drawback was the lack of open facilities as the two sets of toilets (next to the harbour parking and on the beach) were both closed and we had already eaten so didn't try to use those at any of the bars or restaurants, although they all looked clean and well-stocked. So we had to leave the area and go find some toilets elsewhere, which cut short our visit. Although it was pleasant enough, I've knocked off a few stars for the lack of open facilities and the attitude of some of the shop staff, which their prices did not justify.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 8, 2024

The beach has super soft fine sand, only a very few stones.
It's kept pretty clean but unfortunately there a quite a few cigarette butts left by the monsters who couldn't be bothered to take them away.
We hired two sunbeds (hamacas) and umbrellas for the day for €10.50 (the signs say they are €4 each, but they were €3.50). It's card payment only and there are people who will come to your bed to take payment.
The bay is roped off but you can still swim out a fair way. The water was really clear and calm. There are lifeguards.
Toilets are free but grim. Take your own paper, you might need it. Go with a companion to stand guard because not all the locks on the doors work.

We had a day trip here from Playa del Ingles / Maspalamos area, for a bit of variety. Its easy to get to by bus from these places and takes approx. half an hour.
The beach maybe has a slightly nicer, busier feel to it but maybe that is because it is much smaller and compact than the PDI beach.
It has quite a few bars and restaurants close to the beach so is a good place to sit with a drink in the sunshine.
I would not want to be staying in one of the hotels perched high on the hills behind the beach, or in the resort for a whole holiday, I think I would tire of it quickly.
If you are staying in the larger, busier PDI area then you might want to have a trip out here as a change of scenery, but other than that its nothing special.

lovely area ran by the local council. Sunbed hire was 3.50 per item, so 10.50 euros for 2 beds plus parasol. Nice sand and water. Shame we got kicked off the sunbeds at 6pm. A bit early for us

Perhaps the ugliest place on the south coast. Very ugly buildings that dominate a mediocre beach close to the port with boats coming and going which certainly affect the not clean water. Of course the colors of the sea are acceptable but there is better

Another jewel of the island of Gran Canaria.
The beach is wonderful...less crowded than Amadores, even on weekends.
Catering services available on the beach, as well as sunbeds and umbrellas at absolutely honest prices.
Not to be missed if you come to these parts...

Food was good but rooms starting to look a bit dated.
Very nice beach but noisy around the pools.
The. Swim up bar was just a big toilet full of people who couldn’t handle their drink.
There where plenty drinking but no one was getting out for a pee

Beach beds and parasols for rent, only payable by credit card,
The beach and the pier where there are beach beds are non-smoking areas.
Beach is fine, slopes gradually towards the water.
Puerto Rico has little to do, but many dining options,
If you want to see more of the island, instead of lazing and sunbathing on the beach (because that's fine), then you should rent a car

Hi, I staying at Morasol Suites end of Sept, have stayed in Puerto Rico twice before, where is the nearest best supermarket please.
Written July 26, 2019
From the beach walk through the park, then you see a shopping Center (10 min) hold the shoppingcenter on your left hand and 5 minutes futher there’s a new shopping center with a very good supermarket, this is a really must do.
They are selling candy from € 0,10 to a bottle Whiskey up to € 4.300,- (no typing mistake), a large room special conditioned wines and very expensive champagne but also Evert thing you need ( its a very big shop) and very fresh.
