If you are in Corte, you definitely should do the hike! It was just fabulous. Even with kids (10 years and more) you can do the hike. It is not that demanding.

Thanks to the description above we followed the less challenging path. If you face the lake direction from the parking lot to your left will be a steep but doable and less open route and to you right is less overall less steep but with...More

Heavy climb to the lake, suitable only for fit people. Two options to climb just after the Bergerie de Melo : on the left side (longer, but easier climb through the forest) and on the right (using ladders and chains, but with nicer views).

Very uneven path up via some fixed chains and ladders. I have occasional vertigo but found it bearable. Well worth the effort once you reach the lake. I even had a swim and jump in off the rocks. Fantastic views down valley Restonica and up...More

For nature lovers, you have to visit "Lac du Melo", if you are staying overnight in Corte. Bring a wind Jacket with you because it is a bit fresh up there, if you are tune for summer temperature. Brilliant view on top of the mountain...More

You have a choice, either walk by the "randonee" along the Restonica Valley (trail leading edge of the valley of course) or you can try to catch a bus (about 9.00 AM) or hitch-hiking. Whatever you do, at the end of road starst not so...More

We drove up from Bastia and it took just about an hour and half to get to the parking spot at Bergeries. We reached about 9:15 am and left at 9:30. It's a lovely day hike and we took the straight ascent. It's fairly easy...More

A must do! We went with two children aged 9 and 6. The views are stunning and the hike itself isn't too demanding except at the top... Steep rocks with chains to help you hold on and a vertical ladder to climb! It's worth it!...More
