Tamarisk59's review sums this place up perfectly. Nothing has changed since their review except that maybe the cobwebs are now even more dense. Anyone with arachnophobia beware. We only popped our heads in to have a quick look at this unusual bar but when we saw the strange interior we decided we would each have a glass of wine. The owner, cigar in mouth, gave us some slices of the peppery ham which were really tasty. Hygiene is not of the highest order but we happily overlooked this because its very atmospheric. Its just off the main square in Corte town so is fairly easy to find. A one-off !

Walked in to buy a bottle of wine and five old men were sitting around a wine barrel playing the local card game of bollote. One of them got up to help and gave advice on the local wine. The wine he suggested didn't have a sample to try, so he actually opened a bottle to let us taste it. Marvelous! When we were done with the transaction, he went right back to his game. Local style!

This may have been the best meal I have ever had. 3 course, fish soup, grilled prawns with risotto, and traditional chestnut cake. Add a luscious local Corsican white wine by colombu and what could be better.

This is a interesting place! It won't win any hygiene awards! There are thick cobwebs behind the bar and the place is generally dusty. The owner cuts the meat and bread to have with your wine with a cigar in his mouth and he smokes this continually and you can smoke at your table. Non smokers beware! The charcuterie meats are very peppery so you will need to taste lots of wines! No English is spoken by the owner or the regulars! So good for practising ordering wine in French, the lesson I can remember ! However the atmosphere relaxed and fun and we tasted some great wines and I loved the Muscat which I bought a bottle of for 13. Euros.

Wine bar/bottle shop in the center of Corte. Excellent Corse wines at 3 Euro. Fantasic location with cobwebs on the walls.
