One of those beaches you have to visit

The beach is long and wide at low tide. The Whales Tail is something you have never seen before--anywhere.

Secluded and beautiful! We went not knowing what to expect - find your own private nook and enjoy. Plenty of shade and perfect water.

Simply beautiful. Be sure to go to the point at low tide. Great place to swim, relax, enjoy the scenery. Not crowded when we were there

Ballenia Beach is a state park so it cost a few dollars to go in- fun fact she wanted $6 us person when we entered at the most southern gate- but said I only had colonies and the rate dropped to 5,000 colonies or about $10 bucks so beware. Unvita beach is the highlight as it is the famed Whale... More

Check the tides and walk out to sea at low tide on the Whales tail at Uvita. On one side the sea is calm and the water safe for children. Just make sure you know when the tide is coming in... there's plenty of time for a walk a swim and a sandwich if you do it right.

This beach is close to our home. It is large and even when there are people there one never feels like its crowded. We love walking to the Whale's Tail. We enter at Chaman Beach/Ballena

The dark sand is soft and this is a great location to take surf lessons. Enjoy drinking the juice from a coconut and/or walk to flutterby house for the best margaritas.

We visited most of the beaches along the south coast and this was our favorite. You do have to pay $6 US per person to enter but it is well worth it and pays for a fresh water shower at the end of your experience as well. Very few people are there and the views and waves are incredible. The... More

The beach is very long and virgin! It is amazing, when I was there, I was practically the only one! Inform you first when the sea is gonna be low tight so you'll be able to walk on the "whale tail" that appears! Be careful there are some stingrays in the water!
