The guides were fantastic but the horseback riding was very slow (as compared to other places where you get to "gallop" to make a bit more exhilarating). Our tourguides took us through the jungle and while it was gorgeous, the end destination to the waterfalls was rather underwhelming.

We have done this tour 3 times. The price is reasonable and the experience has always been good. There is good wild life viewing and the waterfall trip is cool and inviting. The horses are well kept and well behaved. We have not done the beach tour as it appears rather hot but will try when the temperatures are mild.... More

This was a nice thing to do. I've never been on a horse before but it was not a problem. The part were we were riding on the beach in the sunset was really nice. We even saw a monkey on our way back to the ranch! A fun thing to do and the tour took about 2 hours.

This is our third time visiting Costa Rica and the second time at Rancho La Merced. We took the sunset tour to the beach and it is honestly such an amazing experience. The horses are well taken care of and the guides are very caring and informative. It is good for both beginner and experienced riders. Esteban, our guide was... More

Kids took a nice ride through the Rancho la Merced on very well trained horses with minimal to no fear of danger! Great guides! Super cool setting! Gotta run the kids on the beach in paradise!

Amazing morning riding through the trails, through a river/mangroves & on the beach - our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and spotted a sloth, monkeys, toucans, red macaws, a baby caiman, iguanas, a hawk & its nest & lots of birds. Esteban told us all about the trees & plants - it was very interesting. The horses were great too, clearly... More

When I say this was the best thing I did in an action packed vacation in Costa Rica, I mean it! Our guide, Esteban, was fantastic and really took the experience to the next level. My friend and I did an earlier morning ride at 9am and with Esteban's help, we saw ALL of the animals we had on our... More
