When I say this was the best thing I did in an action packed vacation in Costa Rica, I mean it! Our guide, Esteban, was fantastic and really took the experience to the next level. My friend and I did an earlier morning ride at 9am and with Esteban's help, we saw ALL of the animals we had on our... More

Experienced a truly memorable last activity in Uvita. Early morning ride through the fields and forest down to the deserted beach and along the sand. This was our last activity in Costa Rica on the morning of our return home. We had the ride to ourselves under the excellent and supportive guys at the ranch. My son and I are... More

My husband and I were treated to a private ride with a wonderful guide! We wound through the jungle and saw monkeys and birds and then spent some time riding down the beach. It was exciting and romantic at the same time. We really lucked out with just little sprinkle of rain, which was quite nice to calm the heat!

I was a chaperone for nine 8th graders. Some of the kids had never been on a horse before but the ride was a slow, single file line so everyone has able to participate with no problems. The forest was scenic and we saw monkeys and birds. We crossed a river twice and if you didn't remember to lift your... More

My husband and I visited during the rainy season and were happy to find Rancho La Merced open. They were very accommodating and took us on the beach ride. Our guide, Leandro, was super knowledgeable about the area and enjoyable to chat with during our ride. We were lucky and saw quite a few animals on the trip including an... More

Me and my girlfriend went horseback riding and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Our guide took us trough a forest, small river, palm plantations to the stunning and completely deserted Playa Hermosa. There we were able to try gallop and enjoy the breathtaking views. The guide was very kind and helpful, pointing out different animals and plants that we... More

We visited Rancho La Merced with a larger group, there were 14 of us. What a great ride we all had. We rode to the waterfalls, through forests and saw plenty of wildlife, including the monkeys. You could tell the horses were well taken care of, and our guides were very accommodating with our group. After the ride there was... More

To begin with, the horses were just awesome. They responded so well and are really taken care of. We were only with two and had a very friendly guide with us. The ride was very relaxed and the nature varies alot. Of course getting to the beach was awesome. SO much space, absolutely no one there. I will never forget... More

Leandro Sanchez was our guide for the two hour horseback ride through the ranch, then down to the beach. His professionalism and experience with horses greatly enhanced the tour. I'm not one for tours, especially shelling out for typically over-inflated prices, but this far exceeded what I expected. Beautiful. They take pride keeping it that way! One of those experiences...
