Combine Spanish, surfing, yoga, fire dancing and scuba certification in any combination for 1-12 weeks in Cabuya, Costa Rica. Programs include accommodations, zip line canopy tours, horseback riding, waterfall hikes, bonfires and a whole lot of fun. We have just bought a wildlife rescue center and are building a new campus. We are currently accepting volunteers willing to help with construction while we renew our permits and soon we will have a wildlife volunteer program as well.

La Escuela Del Sol turned out to be much more then what I initially expected. I started with one week of Spanish and yoga, and then extended my stay for a second week. By reading earlier posts it seems that it is quite a trend among new arrivals and I am not surprised. I am not alone in falling in... More

La Escuela del Sol truly exceeded my expectations! I stayed at the school for two weeks in July, taking private intermediate level yoga classes from 7:30-8:30 followed by Intermediate Spanish from 9:30-11:00 and Spanish conversation from 11:10-12:30. This was my week two schedule. During week one, I was joined by another student during yoga and language lab. July is the... More

There are too many words and some not yet invented that would be used to describe this journey; it was exactly what I needed and more !! Everything was a new challenge; from the initial trip into San Jose and subsequent traveling to Montezuma to the culture and communication barriers ~ from the need to adapt to a new diet... More

La Escuela Del Sol was the first place I got to visit when I got to Costa Rica, and by far my favorite. The experience this school provided was truly priceless. The Yoga, Surf, and Fire Dancing lessons were top notch. The location of the school is truly incredible, although it is a little off the beaten path. I arrived... More

Escuela Del Sol was the best place I could have asked for to begin my journey in central america. The school had a very special family community feel, both the school itself and Lester and Samantha's workshop(Highly suggest for anyone interested in learning fire arts). I took two weeks of Spanish with a very knowledgeable, friendly, local lady who was... More

My two weeks in La Escuela Del Sol was amazing and led to many other great experiences on my journey. Never have I had more fun learning a language. Learning spanish in a secluded jungle paradise far from town was truly an adventure. I feel like it was the best way I could ever learn about the Costa Rican culture... More

I had an absolutely awesome time at la escuala. took lots of different courses. Diving was amazing! Jeremy is an awesome host, if you have any requests he tries his best to help you out arrange it. His dogs are the cutest!♡ the school isn't in a big city so you'll have some peace and quiet, but if you want... More

My two weeks at La Escuela del Sol was magical. Located just outside of Montezuma, (a travellers town throbbing with energy, artisans, musicians, and fire spinners) the school provided me with a basic Spanish education (I came speaking nothing), and an intoduction to the flow art of poi. The teachers working for the school are dedicated and kind and the... More

La Escuela Del Sol is a beautiful place. The school is located away from very populated areas, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and I met many great new friends. My husband and I went together and we both loved it. I learned a lot about surfing and brushed up on my fire performing skills. Make sure to bring a... More

This is the first Tripadvisor review I have ever written and have been moved to write it simply as I relied heavily on these reviews before booking a trip to La Escuela Del Sol (LEDS) and was, unfortunately, disappointed with what ended up being a very expensive and isolated experience. I attended the school in February 2016 following research into... More
