Good place for amazing views all around. You can see mountain, valley, dam, river and much more.
There are several bollywood movie shooting points in the valley - guide can tell you few names.
There is also an Echo point in same location. And it's better than another echo point near Arthur seat.
You can also enjoy horse and Camel ride here. They charged 200 for about 300 meter round and gave info about different places seen from there.
Be aware of Monkeys there, any eatable item in food is invite for them.
Overall good place to go if you are visiting Mahakaleshwar.

There are actually two places in Mahabaleshwar associated with Elephant’s heads.

The first one is near Lodwick Point and beyond it. You have to walk about 250 meters from the monument dedicated to General Peter Lodwick on a narrow ridge to an overhanging rock which looks like an elephant’s head. Standing on the head of the elephant you get a spectacular view of the valley below. The overhanging rock looks like the head of an elephant when observed from Lodwick’s memorial. The 250 meter walk is a spine tingling experience in itself.

The second elephant’s head can be seen as you approach Kate’s Point, which is near Nakinda and Avakali, overlooking the Dhom Lake. The gap between the elephant’s trunk and the head looks like a needle-hole from the distance, hence it is also sometimes called the Needle Hole Point.

Elephant head point is situated not far from Mahableshwar. You can reach by cab or own car. Road is good and parking is available at spot. No need of any guide. Just walk 5 minutes to view this beautiful sight of elephant head. During rains everything is lush green and you can see waterfalls. Good place for photography lovers. You can spend at least one hour enjoying beautiful sights. You can also see man made dam . Horses also available for riding experience. Small stalls available for Maggi or tea. Must visit place .

We huffed and puffed up to the Elephant's Head Point, beyond the Lodwick Point. You get a 360 degree view when you stand on the end of the mountain range. As it was the sunset time, the Sun soon captured our attention.

As the sun sets, you can see the mist rising. In the valley below, we spotted terraced farms. A nature lover will appreciate this charm. After the ball of fire had displayed its magic, we realized we must leave before it's dark as the hiking trail may become unsafe.

You wouldn't want to be walking on this trail after dark. The trail is such that it goes from romantic to eerie in minutes. Our parting shot was of a magenta sky.

Beautiful lake view through the valley. Best visited in the early morning or late evenings (before it gets dark). There are 3-4 points in vicinity the best one being the elephant head / needle hole point.

Worth spending 2-3 hours of your time.
