This place is about 250 km from Mumbai. It can be visited for pleasant climate and to get a break from busy life. There are a few points which can be visited, else cool and calm environment in a good hotel is itself enough.
Boating at Venna lake, horse riding, visit to Mahabaleshwar, panchganga temples are also good experiences. Strawberry season in January to March has obvious advantages.
The amenities here are costlier considering their quality. Some charges collected on random names like tourist charges etc to enter Mahabaleshwar or Panchgani are irritating as they offer no facilities to tourist for it.
Shopping is not a good idea (except for fresh strawberries, goose berries) as most of the items are available at other places easily.

It was very refreshing tour. Mahabaleshwar is full of scenic place. Each location has its on beauty. Roads becomes congested during peak hours. Little road management is required by the local authority. Mornings are late, venturing in early hours is of no use. its almost pitch dark. A guided tour of Pratapgarh fort is must to understand the rich history of the fort. All places are fine except Mapro garden. it is unjustifiably hyped. Spend your time at scenic location and purchase items from local vendors or local handicraft centers.

This place used to be cheap, honest and less commercialized and I have spent several good holidays at this hill station. Off late the place has become much more commercialized and overcrowded like any other hill station, overpriced stuff is available for sale. I will still recommend it for first timers.

We went to Mahabaleshwar in the month of August 2021 just after the lockdown were lifted in Mahabaleshwar and all the points were made open. We went for 3N/4D and our stay was in Brightland Resorts on Kates Point Road. During our stay in Mahabaleshwar, the weather was quite chill and foggy. It was drizzling continuously throughout day and night. If you are self driving than be cautious.

From Mumbai, we travelled to Pune by Train and thereafter we have hired a cab from safarnama.in. I recommend this option for those people who have issues in travelling through bus. Whilst returning, made a mistake of travelling through train from Satara to Dadar, instead should have done the same whilst coming to Mahabaleshwar, cause, it consumed much more time whilst returning to Mumbai.

Pros:

1. The weather is amazing during monsoon which makes quite soothing and relaxing.
2. More number of tourist places which includes various points, lakes and historical monuments

Cons:

1. Sightseeing is costly in Mahabaleshwar along with the food
2. The tour operator / local guide will charge you much more for covering most number of points, wherein 3-4 points are there at the same place (Ref. Kates Point)
3. During Monsoon, horse riding is not recommendable, due to foggy weather, where you cannot see anyone who even walks in front of you.
4. I find Mapro Gardens as overrated and costly, can avoid.

Mahabaleshwar has multiple options to offer catering to variety of travelers. It has more than a dozen of points for picturesque view and photography. One can opt for Eco-tourism with strawberry and other farm produce including visit to Mapro garden. For spiritual people the Shiva temple, and trinity Shivlinga visit will be a treat. Apart from that, one can also opt for Water falls like Lingmala(Seasonal) and Venna lake. Panchgini and Tapola are also nearby places which will offer many choices for enjoyable time. Apart from all this, there are churches, museums, amusement park among other things for having best of time.

For a first time visitor, 3 days of minimum time will be required to explore the place and make most of the visit.

I have been to Mahabaleshwar twice. The 2nd time I went this February, I thought due to lockdown we will get less traffic, but we have got big big traffic. too many cars and too many people.

everyone nearby went to mahabaleshwar, it seems like that. We visited sunset point, rock garden and maple.

I like mahabaleshwar a lot, will visit again, you will find too many waterfalls in rainy season, the nature will mesmerise you, you will feel the freshness in your mind.

I visited this resort for a short 3 days visit. The resort is very good and it's hospitality is excellent.
The resort organises a morning trekking in the jungle and takes you through an amazing experience under leadership of their senior manager Mr Om Prakash. The experience is just out of world. I would advise all staying at the resort to experience this and not miss it. It takes hardly 2 hours starting with seeing Sunrise at Wilson point followed by trekking in the jungle. A great experience !!!!

We were a very hungry family when we arrived at dawn in Mahabaleshwar. Ravenous! We wanted breakfast and my hubby suggested that we stroll down to the market. And yo and behold! PRASADAM Dosa wala was going full steam. There were piping hot fluffy white idlis which just melt in the mouth accompanied with a light but tasty sambhar and dense coconut chutney. We kept asking for more and the gentleman obliged. He was also making freshly prepared and piping hot dosas.

This place has everything to enjoy with friends, family. Mountains, Tourist Points, Lake and good options available to have food. Lots of hotels to choose for stay depending on individual's choice and budget. Do visit Pratapghad fort. Worth to visit Mapro food park and Mapro factory.
Climate in summer is pleasant but definitely to try to visit post monsoon to experience to winter in this amazing and beautiful place. A combine package to visit Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar and Pratapghad fort will be ideal.
