Beautiful waterfall (falls?) in the jungle. Didn't swim in the pool below (or the pools further down the stream) but the water looked nice--if also cold. Saw some other people dip in for all of one minute before getting out.
Great photo spot, and a nice drive up there as well.

To discover the Trou Noir waterfall, from the N2 coastal road, near the hamlet of Langevin, take the road called "Rue de la Passerelle", after crossing the eponymous river. The narrow, but paved, road continues by the so-called “Tunnel” road, towards the Aigrettes waterfall, in the valley of the Langevin river, which we cross at the hamlet of “Grand Défriché”. You can stop in this place, while parking your car, to visit the Trou Noir waterfall. Access to this waterfall is on foot, via an easy path of 300 meters, which leaves from the right bank of the Langevin river, just after taking the Bailey footbridge. After a little walk, we arrive in a very green place where a waterfall with multiple cataracts tumbles over rocks. They flow into a pool with deep blue, almost “black” water. Bathing is possible, but the water is cold. The setting is pleasant in the middle of abundant nature and allows you to enjoy the atmosphere, which I personally find very romantic!

Better go to the Anse des Cascades on the far East side, also easier drive.... and visit Hell Bourg if you like landscapes!
