I had not been back here for about five years as a visitor to shop and boy has it changed. So many of the shops are closed. The chain stores are pretty much all that remain and unfortunately they will go too. It's hard to compete with the convenience of shopping malls. It's a shame.

Wow - Bridge Road certainly isn't what it use to be. Many shops were closed down and pending new lease. Head to a DFO instead.

Bridge Road was once the very best of shopping places. I was last there in September 2015 and returned yesterday and was so upset to see all the vacant shops. You could spend a whole day here once and still not have done all the shops now I think an hour would be enough. It was a wonderful place with... More

My teenaged daughter and I came to Melbourne for a shopping trip especially looking forward to visiting Bridge Road. The taxi driver from the airport told us not to bother as most of the shops had closed. We ignored him and went anyway. True, some shops had closed but there were plenty still open and we managed to snag bags... More

eBay, OZsales have killed this shopping strip mecca which used to be filled with fashion bargain hunters on weekends. The clothing section (between Church St and Hoddle St) is now as shadow of its former self now a sad place with many closed/for lease/for sale empty shop fronts. There are still a few shops to browse through for those who... More

Very popular shopping destination that I like to visit every few months... Usually come away with a couple of bargains... Good clothing (designer labels & affordable fashion) & shoe shops... Best to come on a week day...

Worth a look but not what it was maybe 2 years ago. Some recognised brands however many empty shops. Several good coffee shops.
