Really sad what has happened to Bridge Rd on the back of what I can only assume is prohibitively high rents - used to be a bustling thriving shopping destination, famous for it's bargains & outlet stores. Now a walk down Bridge Rd is very dull indeed, so many empty shops! Certainly won't be fighting any crowds.

Lots of shoe and men's wear suit and shirt shops. This area is redeveloping as there are apartment buildings going up and the area is being revived. There are cafes/coffee shops, and Red Cross op shop, women's and men's wear, supermarket, gift shops and a really nice organic food shop worth a visit. The area mostly along Bridge Road and... More

Some 10 - 20 years ago, Brisbane visitors who visited Melbourne would come back and pass on all the good shopping stories, most of them would be about Bridge Road. I can recall a number of holiday trips to Melbourne which always included a 4 - 5 hour adventure along Bridge Road. As a family group by our selves or... More

Used to be a thriving retail strip but due to ever increasing rents it has shut down a lot of shops and thus the interest in the area has dropped right off. For every three shops shutting only one shop will reopen and are all generally fast food places so a walk down Bridge road nowadays doesn't prove very interesting... More

First time I've been here we rented accommodation for a few nights. Great area and so close to the city the trams run all the time and you don't need to wait long. Lots of interesting shops although some expensive lovely little place for tea here called Cuppa.

Bridge Road Richmond is full of restaurants, boutique clothing stores and other interesting businesses. Bridge Road has come a long way since the 1970s, when it was the dead end of town. Now everything happening. Getting there is easy, just get the 75 tram from outside Flinders Street Railway Station

Not as good as it was a couple of years ago. It was renouned for its clearance stores. You still might find a bargain. It is a long street so a long walk.

Our local. A great array of food & a few bars. Sporting Globe great to watch major sporting events - good food & live music Fri/Sat. Spread Eagle pub has great food & cosy environment as long as the bouncers don't let in drunk losers. This precinct is much more about coffee and food now than shopping. Sadly lots of... More

There are so many empty shops on Bridge Road that it is almost not worth shopping there. Unfortunately, most of the shops that are left are cafes with a huge reduction in discount fashion stores which is what the road was once famous for. I probably wouldn't bother going there again. (Bridge Road landlords, you've been too greedy!)
