We love going to Bridge Road when we are in Melbourne. Not only are there many outlet stores, there are also great cafes and restaurants. As the tram runs through Bridge Road, it is very easily accessible, wherever you are staying. Can highly recommend for a relaxing shopping morning or afternoon.

If you catch a tram from Flinders Street heading East #75 and go past the beautiful Treasury Gardens and Captain Cook's Cottage, you cross Hoddle Street and then you are into Bridge Road Richmond. Bridge Road has an eclectic range of shops - particularly specialist fashion shops and unique gift shops. Well worth a visit as it is so close... More

My daughter and I travelled to Melbourne to look for a formal dress that we didn't want to see mass produced in a large department store or chain store. First stop was Chapel Street Melbourne. Unfortunately whilst there were lots of designer stores & chain stores there were very few boutiques that sold formal dresses that would appeal to a... More

I used to live here years ago. There were many useful shops and you could get just about anything here. Now it is overpriced boutiques and cafes.

Really sad what has happened to Bridge Rd on the back of what I can only assume is prohibitively high rents - used to be a bustling thriving shopping destination, famous for it's bargains & outlet stores. Now a walk down Bridge Rd is very dull indeed, so many empty shops! Certainly won't be fighting any crowds.

Lots of shoe and men's wear suit and shirt shops. This area is redeveloping as there are apartment buildings going up and the area is being revived. There are cafes/coffee shops, and Red Cross op shop, women's and men's wear, supermarket, gift shops and a really nice organic food shop worth a visit. The area mostly along Bridge Road and... More

Some 10 - 20 years ago, Brisbane visitors who visited Melbourne would come back and pass on all the good shopping stories, most of them would be about Bridge Road. I can recall a number of holiday trips to Melbourne which always included a 4 - 5 hour adventure along Bridge Road. As a family group by our selves or... More

Used to be a thriving retail strip but due to ever increasing rents it has shut down a lot of shops and thus the interest in the area has dropped right off. For every three shops shutting only one shop will reopen and are all generally fast food places so a walk down Bridge road nowadays doesn't prove very interesting... More

First time I've been here we rented accommodation for a few nights. Great area and so close to the city the trams run all the time and you don't need to wait long. Lots of interesting shops although some expensive lovely little place for tea here called Cuppa.
