Visited here for the first time in years, scouting for formal dresses. There were quite a few good options so that was good. Most of the shops were from the city to church street. There seemed to be many empty shop fronts which is definitely the sign of the dfo era. The sales people in the shops I went to... More

For people that are interested in the design and planning of historic Melbourne streets. Plenty of food and drink on display, but don't expect a welcome from the gentrified crowd.

The shopping may not be what it once was but there are still plenty of restaurants and cafes right on the edge of Melbourne city. Through traffic is constant but that need not be too disturbing.

Bridge Road was the Mecca of factory outlet shopping with tour buses bringing eager shoppers to the area. No longer is this the case as parking and high rents have forced many of the traders from the shops. What remains is a growing number of cafes, coffee shops etc This used to be an area where the shops were almost... More

Bridge Rd Richmond is no longer the clothes shopping mecca of old. The advent of the DFO and high local parking fees are to blame. There are now many empty shopfronts in the strip between Punt Rd and Church St. There are still some good cafes and the stores with a profile still remain - Sportsgirl, David Lawrence, Witchery Ziera... Lots and lots of great food choices to be had. The farmers market was there on the Saturay morning. BRIDGE Road used to be about the discount clothing outlets. Lots of empty shops now, but you can see the revival of Bridge Road as a foodie hit.

Sad to see what has happened to Bridge Road over the last few years. So many empty shops and struggling stores. However there are signs of life and new great cafes are popping up. Stick with it there are plenty of good shops packed with all sorts of great products and fashion and they need support
