It's a reasonably easy and short trail, which you can do without a guide as it seemed to me that there are always people coming and going and helping each other along the way. There are two points along the way where you can buy water, but it's a good idea to leave with your own. Swimming in the stream is cold but delicious, a reward for the walk. The bravest venture out on an "esquibunda" when the stream has more water flowing. It's well worth spending a few hours just enjoying the view in the water. The kids in the group loved it!

Great place for family and friends. Space of easy access, quiet trail with support points, a great space to sunbath in the water and a fun option for the child with its natural toboggan. Calm and relaxing.

Close to the city this attraction is one of the most enjoyable. It is also free and there is no reason for a guide if you know the basics of a trail.
The 40 min walking is easy with plain open trail almost the whole way.

One of the most popular spots close to the town, so often packed with people - my advice is to go early!!
Beautiful scenery and the opportunity for a swim in the deep pool below the "slide", though I would advise that casual visitors leave the "slide" to the regulars who frequent the area!

We stopped here on our way from Sossego Waterfall and although we were pretty exhausted, this was a blast. We had fun such little kids and we enjoyed it a lot. As we came around 16:00, the place was not crowded at all and we had the waterslide all for ourselves.

Easy to get there without a guide, one of the very few trails that can be done alone. And there is a gigantic natural water slide!

Ribeirao do Meio Waterfall is about an hours easy walking away from Lençois, good for swimming.
Nothing spectacular but ideal to alternate as a relaxing afternoon between the more exhaustive walks in Chapada Diamantina

From the centre of Lencois this place is almost an hour walking, pretty easy. At the big white church you go to the right, keep walking until you reach a dirt road that leads through a forest to the riberao do meio. It is a popular place for swimming and sunbathing, for tourists and locals. Visiting the place is free.

There's a moderate trail until you can get to the fall from Lençóis. Be careful when jumping into the river, the water is clean but very dark, so you can't see the rocks inside it, people havê died there.

We were super lucky that on the last day of our stay in Lencois we met a couple of local Brazilian guys who offered to take us to Ribeirao do Meio, we never would have found it by ourselves otherwise.
It's the perfect place to cool off, and there were only a couple of other people when we visited so it's quite secluded and tourist-free. Being a bit of a baby I was too scared to go down the natural waterslide. But my boyfriend did and as you can read from this he loved it! Thankfully there weren't many people to witness his bare bum!
