About
Established in 1959, Covert Farms Family Estate Winery is located in Oliver, BC on 650 acres of benchland. Winemaker Gene Covert is a 3rd generation farmer who worked this land with his father and grandfather. Our certified organic estate vineyards are influenced by the majestic McIntyre Bluff and managed with biodynamic practices. We craft our estate wines with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation when possible to focus on vineyard and fruit. Our white wines display purity of fruit and a crisp natural acidity coveted by growers, and low yields result in terroir-focused artisan reds that are luscious and age-worthy. Those who love recreation dually appreciate our location at the gateway to the iconic Okanagan landmark McIntyre Bluff, which makes a great place to picnic, bike ride or hike. Secrest Organics at Covert Farms operates our seasonal fruit & vegetable stand, and visitors can get their hands dirty in the u-pick section - selecting ripe produce under the summer sun.

- Barb RVancouver, Canada1 contributionOur favourite of all! This was our favourite all around tasting experience. We booked a premium tasting that included 5 wines paired with cheese, crackers, olives, and fresh farm produce. We enjoyed all the wines and the food was excellent. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t hesitate to offer a 6th wine that wasn’t included. After the tasting we wandered around the property and then ordered a bottle to drink there. It’s a beautiful setting to sit and enjoy a great bottle of wine. Highly highly recommend!!Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.Written September 30, 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten September 27, 2020

- YVR_travel_junkieVancouver, Canada112 contributionsFabulous Wine TastingWe have been to Oliver many times for wine tastings in the last few years. Reading reviews for different wineries during the Covid pandemic this seemed like a great choice. Many were charging $20 for tastings, so when we saw that the Epicurean Wine Tasting was $30, it was a done deal. Easy online booking for the 4 of us. Delicious charcuterie plate and 7 wonderful wines to sample. Covid protocols had them standing behind plexi glass, so you can safely enjoy your time there. Beautiful winery and we ended up leaving with a box of wine. Their rose is one of my favorites. Would definitely visit again. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your Epicurean Tasting experience. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! We hope to see you again soon. Our Epicurean Grand Reserve Tasting was excellent. Our group of 4 had a separated table, and a very considerate hostess to guide us through the various pre-poured wines. The charcuterie plate was generous, and contained a nice range of organic and local cheese, meats, and produce.
We were fortunate to enjoy live music, as a local Penticton artist sand and played guitar for the scattered guests.

Really beautiful family winery and farm. The Epicurean grand reserve tasting was fantastic - the host was great at explaining the wines and the background and philosophy of the organic farm. She also gave us time to enjoy the wines and didn't rush us at all. The charcuterie board that came with the tasting was really great, with local foods and fresh items from the farm. The wines were a little more expensive than some wineries, but were really interesting and unique.
We were so happy that they also have a kids farm tour and tasting as well - our kids enjoyed this winery so much more than other ones with no kids' activities! It made for a much more enjoyable tasting for the adults to have the kids busy.

We had the pleasure of experiencing Covert farms this July. Gerold was our host and guided us through a great selection of wines and paired cheeses.
The wines were impressive, but more so was the farm/winery’s approach to sustainable farming. By the en dog the experience, we understood the Covert family approach to wine making, farming and how to be good shepherds of the land.
The location is beautiful and like the activities they have built in to the experience.
My life loved the curly orange piglets and I had fun on the air pillow (for an old guy)!
Definitely on our list of best places in Oliver.

Our experience was beyond anything we expected. Jayna our host was amazing. She gave us the full experience by enlightening us on the farm and its family history. Her warm and passionate personality showed through
We love all the wines and the fact that they are organic and sulphate free.
We had a hard time choosing which wines to buy as we loved Them all.

Super pet friendly place. Have done a very good job of providing a nice experience during the covid 19 crisis while we all have to social distance. Would recommend doing the epicurean food and wine tasting experience. It is enough to count as a light lunch.

Had a great time at Covert Farms with the kids. We had a very relaxing wine tasting of some fantastic wines while the kids at the same time had a juice tasting. Adults and children each had a yummy charcuterie plate to go along with the drinks. Excellent pairing. After a farm tour with young Mya Covert the kids had a “boundiful” time on the yellow bouncy pillow. The wine we ordered was all ready for us when we left. One of the best family experiences in the Osoyoos/Oliver area.

Me and 2 friends went for the epicurean tasting. It was 32,50$ per person. Which was expensive. It was 100$ for 7 sips of wine and 1 charcuterie board to share.
The food was great and the service was great but I feel that for this amount something was missing. Employees have plexiglasses and masks which is great for the pandemic.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. In order to provide everyone with a safe and personalized experience all of our tastings are private with a designated staff member who takes you through the history and farming practices of our farm. During the hour of your private tasting our Covert Farms Team member takes you through 7 wines from our award-winning portfolio, including some of our newly certified organic releases, grand reserves and methode ancestrale sparkling wines. Our charcuterie boards are graced with locally sourced artisanal cheeses, cured meats, pickles, olives, crackers, and fresh produce and edible flowers grown right at our farm. We work towards providing you with an experience with high quality products in a safe, relaxing environment especially during this time with Covid.

We took the farm tour and tasting and were very impressed. It was so great learning all about the regenerative farming practices that Covert uses, not only to enhance their wines, but to reinvest in the environment. It made the tasting all the more meaningful and we were happy to support this business. Would definitely recommend!

Our whole family loved the Hands on Harvest Tour. From exploring the farm while riding in the back of the big red truck (Sauvignon blanc in hand), to enjoying a reserve tasting with a beautiful charcuterie platter (while our kids played with puppies!) - it was a marvellous afternoon. We highly recommend both our host Krista and the experience as a whole. Great value!
Note: Our kids are teens, but Covert Farms would also be wonderful for families with younger children. They have a fantastic outdoor play area with a giant yellow bouncy pillow and a slide.

This place is a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff are knowledgeable and very kind. In the summer they offer farm tours for the kids and live music on certain days. It has a community feel to the farm, kids can use the slip and slide or the bouncy pillow while parents enjoy a tasting. They also offer picnic or charcuterie experiences which I highly recommend. Their charcuterie boards are lovely and perfect presentation. I highly recommend this winery and will be back again!
