About
Established in 1959, Covert Farms Family Estate Winery is located in Oliver, BC on 650 acres of benchland. Winemaker Gene Covert is a 3rd generation farmer who worked this land with his father and grandfather. Our certified organic estate vineyards are influenced by the majestic McIntyre Bluff and managed with biodynamic practices. We craft our estate wines with minimal intervention, using natural fermentation when possible to focus on vineyard and fruit. Our white wines display purity of fruit and a crisp natural acidity coveted by growers, and low yields result in terroir-focused artisan reds that are luscious and age-worthy. Those who love recreation dually appreciate our location at the gateway to the iconic Okanagan landmark McIntyre Bluff, which makes a great place to picnic, bike ride or hike. Secrest Organics at Covert Farms operates our seasonal fruit & vegetable stand, and visitors can get their hands dirty in the u-pick section - selecting ripe produce under the summer sun.

This was our favourite all around tasting experience. We booked a premium tasting that included 5 wines paired with cheese, crackers, olives, and fresh farm produce. We enjoyed all the wines and the food was excellent. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t hesitate to offer a 6th wine that wasn’t included. After the tasting we wandered around the property and then ordered a bottle to drink there. It’s a beautiful setting to sit and enjoy a great bottle of wine. Highly highly recommend!!

Our Epicurean Grand Reserve Tasting was excellent. Our group of 4 had a separated table, and a very considerate hostess to guide us through the various pre-poured wines. The charcuterie plate was generous, and contained a nice range of organic and local cheese, meats, and produce.
We were fortunate to enjoy live music, as a local Penticton artist sand and played guitar for the scattered guests.
Highly recommended. The

We enjoyed the Epicurean Wine Tasting...picture worthy table set-up, gorgeous and tasty charcuterie platter and 7 delicious wines to sample...all in a tranquil farm setting. Covid protocols were strictly adhered to, so you can safely enjoy the experience.

We have been to Oliver many times for wine tastings in the last few years. Reading reviews for different wineries during the Covid pandemic this seemed like a great choice. Many were charging $20 for tastings, so when we saw that the Epicurean Wine Tasting was $30, it was a done deal. Easy online booking for the 4 of us. Delicious charcuterie plate and 7 wonderful wines to sample. Covid protocols had them standing behind plexi glass, so you can safely enjoy your time there. Beautiful winery and we ended up leaving with a box of wine. Their rose is one of my favorites. Would definitely visit again.

Welcome to the California of Canada! Covert Farms Family Estate is reminiscent of California with vintage truck tours, stunning landscapes, working farm/ranch on 650 acres. Beginning with George Covert leaving California for the south Okanagan in 1959 to grandson Gene and Shelly/family now carrying the torch. Regenerative organic farming, award winning wines and a pure love of the craft, Covert Farm is a “MUST VISIT”! Perfect for families, weddings, couples, or connoisseurs looking for a true, rural wine country experience! 🇨🇦🍷🍇🥂☀️

Sit in the back of the beautiful ‘52 Mercury and tour the property, sip wine and enjoy charcuterie while gazing at the gorgeous McIntyre Bluff or go see the alpacas and critters. Best part, it’s only a quick drive from the District Wine Village.

We had the pleasure of experiencing Covert farms this July. Gerold was our host and guided us through a great selection of wines and paired cheeses.
The wines were impressive, but more so was the farm/winery’s approach to sustainable farming. By the en dog the experience, we understood the Covert family approach to wine making, farming and how to be good shepherds of the land.
The location is beautiful and like the activities they have built in to the experience.
My life loved the curly orange piglets and I had fun on the air pillow (for an old guy)!
Definitely on our list of best places in Oliver.

We took the farm tour and tasting and were very impressed. It was so great learning all about the regenerative farming practices that Covert uses, not only to enhance their wines, but to reinvest in the environment. It made the tasting all the more meaningful and we were happy to support this business. Would definitely recommend!

Our experience was beyond anything we expected. Jayna our host was amazing. She gave us the full experience by enlightening us on the farm and its family history. Her warm and passionate personality showed through
We love all the wines and the fact that they are organic and sulphate free.
We had a hard time choosing which wines to buy as we loved Them all.

Really beautiful family winery and farm. The Epicurean grand reserve tasting was fantastic - the host was great at explaining the wines and the background and philosophy of the organic farm. She also gave us time to enjoy the wines and didn't rush us at all. The charcuterie board that came with the tasting was really great, with local foods and fresh items from the farm. The wines were a little more expensive than some wineries, but were really interesting and unique.

We were so happy that they also have a kids farm tour and tasting as well - our kids enjoyed this winery so much more than other ones with no kids' activities! It made for a much more enjoyable tasting for the adults to have the kids busy.

So many great things to say about Covert Farms. The staff, the atmosphere, the wine, the animals!! I could go on and on. Award winning wines, sustainably grown grapes, and a great charcuterie offering to boot! I cannot thank the staff enough for being so kind and welcoming; fitting me in at the last minute when they were booked up. Sadly, they recently announced that they will no longer be able to offer these services and it just goes to show that wineries need our support! A number of things led to this decision but decreased customer support during the last two months was a factor.
