About
Named for the solitary majestic old growth pine of their Oliver estate, Le Vieux Pin sits perched amidst the famed vineyards of the Black Sage Bench: Canada's sole pocket desert, located in the South of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Since releasing their first vintage in 2005, Le Vieux Pin has captured the essence of traditional French winemaking, along with the bold New World character distinct to the region. Considered by the national wine industry to be a leading Syrah producer, the winery uses low input viticulture and non-interventionist winemaking to make exclusive vintages that carry with them a sense of time and place. These fine wines can be savoured nationwide and internationally, at select culinary hot spots, and fine wine merchants. The pine tree stands alone. Come visit us, our Tasting Room is open By Appointment Friday - Sunday May - Jun 30: 11am-5pm. July 1 - Aug 31: 10am-5:30pm. Sept 1 -Oct 31: 11am- 5pm. Our Wine Shop is open 7 days a week April to October.

Alan was our host, and what a great job he did describing the wine, explaining the winery and regaling us with great stories....he made our tasing memorable. As did the wine....I mean, REALLY good wine. We will be back...again and again, might even join the wine club.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 21, 2024
- Happiness162556307141 contributionGreat discovery! We spent a week in the Okanagan Valley and visited several vineyards. The Old Pine was our favorite. We discovered the Syrah grape variety thanks to the knowledge of our host Al who allowed us to appreciate all the products of the vineyard. Thank you for sharing a couple of special wines with us! Please note Le Vieux Pin tastings are by appointment only.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 8, 2024

Please note that due to the effects of hash winter, the amount of wine available is limited, so get your favorites while you can. Space for tasting is limited, so an appointment is necessary. The wines were excellent. The rose was top notch, and the syrah is one of the best in the valley.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 9, 2024
- AlvaVancouver, Canada189 contributionsOn the short-list of best wineries to visit …..The number of wineries around Osoyoos / Oliver can be daunting , and who can really visit more than 3-4 wineries in a day and remember anything about their varieties ? Le Vieux Pin ( and it’s sister -winery La Stella ) are both on our short-list . Le Vieux Pin has ( in my opinion) the better wines but La Stella has the prettier location . Preferring white wines , I have to recommend Le Vieux Pins “ Ava” which is really lovely……Visited October 2024Traveled with friendsWritten October 5, 2024

We spent a week doing wine tastings, some at wineries we knew well and others we didn't know at all. This was one of the latter. We booked a tasting and spent a wonderful hour with a lady (Marie, if memory serves) who really knew the wines and was very passionate about them. We sampled several wines and came away with more bottles than we were intending to buy! A fabulous winery and a great tasting experience.

Visited the Okanagan valley for the first time this summer and just had to book a wine tasting tour. With so many wineries to choose from, we relied on family and friends to narrow it down. Le Vieux Pin (and La Stella) were without a doubt our top 2. The wine tasting and private tour of their beautiful settings with Alex did not compare to anything experienced at other wineries. Not only did we sample world class wines but we also learned so much about the art of fine wine making. Make sure to book your tasting in advance, it is well worth the visit.

Our wine tasting took place in the large room where the huge fermentation tanks sat. Alex was an incredible wealth of knowledge about the wines we tasted and the production and operation of the winery. We so enjoyed his passion for the wine and the terroir. This winery was the highlight of a year! You must make a reservation to taste at this winery!
I was so impressed with this winery and their product I joined the wine club (I have not joined any others )

We had the chance to have a private tasting with Alexander on August 2nd. It lasted more than an hour with detailed explanations of the grapes, the wine and the installation.
The wines were really good, I especially liked the "Point de Vue", which is a syrah.

Vineyard where you must book in advance, but which is well worth it. Marie-Pier took the time to explain to me the history of the vineyard, the philosophy behind the wines: wines that respect the land and the climate of the region. Wines with the style of the Old World (Burgundy) but with local character

My Dad and I visited this lovely vineyard in August 2023 and despite the wine being extremely good and everyone working there being moderately pleasant (as pleasant as anyone French person can be), there was one lady there (can't remember her name) who was quite unpleasant and suprisingly rude right from the get go. I think she said something like "are there any wine's in particular that you're looking for" to which I replied "Actually yes, a friend of mine said that you guy's make excellent Chardonnays" to which she replied "well then you're friend is someone who is clearly not familiar with our wines, we only have one really good Chardonnay". I know what you're thinking..."who running a business would respond to a compliment from a potential customer in that manner?"...and you woud be correct. I would like to chaulk it up to it being run of the mill French snobbery but I think this goes beyond that. This woman is not someone who should be working in a customer facing service industry. That said the other two people working there, a man and a women, were moderately pleasant/not rude so my sentiment towards them is neutral but interacting with the other woman was painful at best. Because I love the wine I will be back but I'll be sure to keep my interactions to an absolutle minimum whilst there and continue writing honest reviews every time I visit.

Group of 4 wine tasting, booked online. Service was excellent, let staff know we had arrived, we were informed they would be a couple of minutes and to find a table outside. All 4 wines served were fantastic, and at a range of price points and styles. The winery rep gave us lots of detail, answered questions and also allowed us to enjoy the sunshine and wine without rushing us through the experience.

We have been members of Le View Pin winery for 4 years now. I love coming to visit and tasting everything they have available. They produce some of the best Syrah in the Okanagan valley. We always go home with more wine than we planned on.

There are few wineries in the Okanagan that will offer a more informative tasting experience to accompany the exceptional wines on offer. If you only have time to visit a couple of wineries during a visit to the Osoyoos area, you could not make a better choice than to book ahead and visit Le Vieux Pin and its sister winery, La Stella. We have sampled a number of Okanagan wine clubs; Le Vieux Pin / La Stella was the first club we joined, and it's the only club we have remained members of since day one. That's down to the fantastic wines and the friendly, personal service we have always received from the staff.

Great tasting experience, the appointments are spaced out well so the host/hostess can spend a lot of time explaining the wine and the vineyard. The Vaila rose is really good, and the Syrah is great. Definitely recommend stopping in for a tasting.
