Named for the solitary majestic old growth pine of their Oliver estate, Le Vieux Pin sits perched amidst the famed vineyards of the Black Sage Bench: Canada's sole pocket desert, located in the South of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley. Since releasing their first vintage in 2005, Le Vieux Pin has captured the essence of traditional French winemaking, along with the bold New World character distinct to the region. Considered by the national wine industry to be a leading Syrah producer, the winery uses low input viticulture and non-interventionist winemaking to make exclusive vintages that carry with them a sense of time and place. These fine wines can be savoured nationwide and internationally, at select culinary hot spots, gastronomical institutions, and fine wine merchants. The pine tree stands alone. We invite you to visit us, our Tasting Room is open the following hours: Nov 1 - March 15: By Appointment only. March 16 - May 15: 7 days a week 11am-5pm. May 16 - Jun 30: Sun-Wed 11am-5pm, Thurs-Sat 10:30am-6:30pm. Jul 1 - Sept 30: 7 days a week 10:30am-6:30pm. Oct 1 - Oct 31: 7 days a week 11am- 5pm.

Wine tourism has invaded the okanagan valley and many slick tasting rooms have cropped up. Quite a few of them seem to be more about selling tastings rather than the wine. Le Vieux Pin was a wonderfully authentic tasting experience that all about the wine, and the incredibly good fortune to be in such a wonderful place.

Coming from Oliver, it was a tight turn for our dually into their fairly narrow driveway. It is a very small winery that charges premium prices - over $70 for one of their white wines. Tasting fees are excessive and are consistent with Napa Valley, which is the reason we skip that region. With the number of excellent wineries in... More

From the earth to the grape to the bottle every process along the way reflects a passion you can clearly taste. Le Vieux Pin is more than a winery for the folks that work there. Talking to them you realize it's a determined choice to work at a sustainable, independent, winery where they can advance their own passions for wine... More

Honestly the dirtiest winery I've ever been in. I couldn't even taste the wines without 20 fruit flies flying around the glass. "oh there's nothing we can do about them" well all the clean wineries seem to figure it out. I honestly couldn't get myself to buy a bottle imagining how many fruit flies are inthe wine before it is... More

Stopped in on the way back from a golf course. The place was reasonably busy but we explored the grounds while the other groups finished their tasting. Wines were tasty (they seem to have much older age statements compared to other wineries) and we purchased a few bottles. The staff were great in taking the time to explain their wines... More

The wines in the tasting were all very nice but we found the tasting to be a bit pricey- $10 for the regular tasting and $18 to include the more expensive wines. We didn't like any of the wines enough to purchase a bottle but would recommend visiting here to others.

This, to me, is what I want to avoid when tasting. I'm on holidays. I have limited time and want to enjoy my brief period away from work. I don't want a wine snob ruining my vacation. And I certainly don't need you to validate my status. As we enter a lady with barely passable English welcomes us with "What... More

Personally, Le Vieux Pin has by far the best wine in Oliver. Each wine is very high quality and memorable. Really good and informative wine-tasting.

We visited Le Vieux Pin on July 25th for a tasting around 12:00pm. The tasting room gives the impression that you've arrived to a vineyard in Provence or Bordeaux and is definitely a smaller boutique winery producing around 4500 cases/year according to the wine tasting host. She was very knowledgable about the wines and created an excellent tasting experience for... More
