We've boated here for 41 years. Love the clear and warm water. Lots of anchorage sites when using a stern tie. It's surprising how accessible cell phone coverage is here.

We set out from Campbell River passed Quadra and Cortez Islands, through the Lewis Channel to Desolation Sound. Through out the trip we heard about the history of the area from our Museum guide, Luisa. We went into Lund for a great lunch at the historic Lund Hotel. Here we were greeted by a staff member who gave us a... More

This is an amazing trip to take in a Zodiac with a native guide. The petroglyphs are wonderful. So are the swimming holes complete with ropes from trees.

On board motoryacht Caroussel of Pristine charters, we thoroughly enjoyed athree hour sunset dinner tour mid august throught his park en route to/fro Desolation sound. The wondrous marine and bird life, e.g. seals, eagles, jumping fish and twilight illumination of the beautiful bays in this park make a oncea lifetime experience

Absolutely a five star experience-chartering from "Desolation Sound Yacht Charters" out of Comox Harbour, B.C. We chartered a Jenneau 42 sail boat. Boat was in superb condition-almost brand new! self furling sails, well equipped cabin, plenty of room for 2 coupes. Could fit 6 persons easily. Easy to reach Desolation Sound from Comox....we had 6 days of great weather, good... More

Stayed at the Desolation Sound Resort for 3 nights, explored the area by fishing charter (best scenery for fishing) and kayak, lovely sunny weather, very relaxing and quiet area (in early June) to visit. A magical place to visit in BC. Just remember to book your ferry rides in advance especially on a weekend to avoid missing out on a... More

Last week we ( two couples ) spent six days exploring Desolation Sound aboard a 36 foot Hunter sailboat - a bare boat charter from Desolation Sound Yacht Charters. The friendly, knowledgeable staff spent time with us going over the charts of the area and a full onboard briefing of the yacht made us feel comfortable with any issues that... More

Safe, quiet, luxurious or rustic options for eating out if you want a boat ride, and a very west coast style of culture all through the Sound.
