Maxine is amazing! Her work is fantastic and we try and visit every year. I’m so sad to hear poor health has hindered her...she’s a great lady.

The woman who owns this lovely shop is delightful and helpful. Unfortunately, due to recent physical limitations she cannot cut and sew the beautiful handbags she was famous for. There are still pillows. And I bought some locally spun and hand dyed yarn she sells for her neighbors. There are also hand-knit items for sale, again from neighbors. I hope she finds an assistant to help get the handbag operation up and running again.

Thank you for your comments, I am heart broken not to be able to produce my bags anymore and will be taking time out to concentrate on this illness and then see how things are there after.

I was very excited to visit having read the reviews. It is a long drive from the Skye bridge but the weather was lovely, and scenery breath taking, so made the effort. We arrived on the 23/3/18 at 4:40pm to find that the shop was closed despite the road side signs, website and trip adviser all saying open until 6pm. So I am sure that this lady is lovely and her goods exceptional as the other reviews have said, however it would be great if the shop could be open when advertised as such. Sorry about this but I would have liked to known.

I'm sorry you were disappointed but sometimes life gets in the way. Due to circumstances beyond my control still on winter hours and having to reduce my opening/working hours which is still in transition, but if you had come in through the gate and I was at home I would most certainly opened up for you. Again, sorry you were disappointed.

Beautiful products including the bags made to order from Harris Tweed. The owner has a real passion for what she does and it comes across very well How lovely to see a product that is individual and not mass produced!
