There is plenty to do here with a very good car park, eating facilities, water sports and a fantastic view of the lough itself. The water is very shallow and is very safe for families. Well worth the visit.

Good for all ages.

Good sized car park, plenty of spaces to park. There are two pretty walks, one of which is very wheelchair accessible. We like to bring my granny along cause she can be in the wheelchair and get to enjoy the water way walk. Ice cream kiosk is very nice too.

Worth a visit
May 2021 • Family
Overlooks lough Neagh. Usually good spot for seeing some ducks. Quite often a bit of activity out on the lough... jet skis etc.
Good park for kids but not much for little ones... primary school age should enjoy it and it had done accessible apparatus.
Lots of picnic tables and benches and a few food choices available.
Toilets available and were clean when we visited.
Has had a lot of investment in recent times.

Worth the visit

Over the years this place has improved in every way with gaining huge investments. A new large out door play park is fun for all the kids. So nice to see they have provided a swing for the special needs kids. Alot more parks need to implement this. Loads of walking areas around the shore. Some sights to see. Worth dining in the new Boat club restaurant.

Limited facilities - until......

We called here for a bracing walk. We were not disappointed - it certainly was bracing in late February. Most of the facilities were closed until we found The Slipway Coffee Bar hidden around the back. Lovely coffee & treats for the dog.

A trip down memory lane
Oct 2019 • Couples
When I was younger I used to spend a lot of time down here on my mountain bike with my mates. Today I drove down to have a look - my first time here in approx 20yrs. There’s a lot of building work going on in the car park but I wonder if it’s to take over from the tired and very dated cafe.

The whole area is clean and tidy, and it was nice to see a proper kids play park. Something that had been missing for so many years.

A nice place to bring your kids to play and burn off a little exercise after school.

Immaculately kept grounds. Fantastic picturesque walk along the river bank to the castle grounds. Lucky to see a heron in the water as well. Outdoor fitness equipment dotted along the path - excellent range of machines. Recommend for a walk at anytime of the year.

Under construction at present
Aug 2019 • Family
The loughshore is usually a brilliant place to visit, they're building a new visitor centre and cafe, so it's a bit of a construction site at the minute. But it'll be lovely in the end.
