Spent an enjoyable 3 hours on the Jacob Marley on a trip out to the Army forts in the Thames estuary. Ours was a rescheduled trip owing to it being cancelled a couple of weeks ago because of bad weather. On the way out we passed the section of the Mulberry harbour off Thorpe Bay then onto the Red Sands towers with around 20 minutes circling and passing through between them for photos. On the return we passed the wreck of the Richard Montgomery off Sheerness. The crew were very professional and gave us a lot of local history knowledge and Thames facts as well as filling us in on the types of vessels we saw. The boat was comfortable (the estuary was like a mill pond that day) and snacks and drinks were available on board. A great trip, good value (ticket includes pier train) and would recommend Jetstream Tours without hesitation.

I have tried many times over the last couple of years to book this trip mid week only to find it fully booked on each occasion., it was well worth the wait. I would recommend this 5 hour trip down the Medway and back, past Sheerness and the wreck of the Richard Montgomery on view in the Thames Estuary, then reaching the destination of the Red Sand Towers the journey was smooth throughout.
Although they are getting the worse for wear its a bit of history you need to see. The captain gave a excellent commentary throughout the trip he was very informative and went along side some of the large cargo vessels that were birthed on the river on the outward journey .On our return to Chatham at the end of the tour every one seemed pleased and I could here people saying what a great day they had just had. Yes me included.

We enjoyed a great day out from Queenborough to southend as well as a trip out to the red sands forts and Montgomery wreck. The sun was shining all day, Richard and the crew were polite and helpful and gave a great commentary on the sights and facts throughout the day. We spent around 25minutes circling the forts with lots of photo oppertunities and around ten minutes circling the masts of ss Montgomery.
We had time at Southend pier after our trip to grab a bite to eat and a quick look around for an hour before we travelled back at 5pm to Queenborough again. The trip was well worth the money and a full day out with lots to see and you even get a trip on the southend pier train thrown in with the price of the boat e-tickets. Lovely to have a boat operating regularly from kent for those who live in the local area.
The whole operation was smooth and professional and would recommend to anybody wishing to take a trip

Myself, wife and 16 year old son went on a Jetstream Tours trip to Red Sands Fort and really enjoyed it. The trip took around 3 hours but the boat was comfortable and had a small cafe on board.
The Red Sands Fort trip is one that you will never forget. Steeped in history, seeing the fort close up is something amazing. A bonus on the way back is that we passed the SS Montgomery wreck. We also saw one of the London barge boats close up. I don't write many reviews, but this trip is one that I would fully recommend.
One final note, the boat is relatively small so places often sell out in advance of sailing. I booked our places on the boat two months in advance, as soon as we had confirmed accommodation in Southend.

The whole trip was really great. It was a very windy day so it was a bit rocky, but we felt absolutely safe in Richard's hands. Our trip was to from Southend on Sea to Queensborough and back and the commentary Richard gave on our return journey was very welcome and extremely interesting. He's probably given it lots of times but he made it seem as if he was really relaying it just for us. There were very few of us on board but David who served us a delicious cup of coffee was very helpful at all times. Thanks to both of them for a great trip. We felt very welcomed and looked after

This tour had been booked for two years. All previous dates had been cancelled due to the weather so it was fourth time lucky! However, it was well worth the wait and we had a fantastic day.
Would highly recommend the tour, everything was perfect.
Very pleased to find that seating had been allocated and felt very safe on board due to the restricted numbers at the current time.
More tours from Southend Pier please!

We really enjoyed our trip from Chatham to Red Sands Fort on Sunday. As well sailing the boat on the way out to to the fort, Richard provided a very interesting and informative commentary about the islands and buildings we passed by on the way. Zack made excellent teas and coffees at the bar on the way out and expertly sailed the boat back to Chatham at the end of the visit. We had plenty of time at Red Sands Fort, where we got up close to the towers and Richard gave a very detailed explanation of the forts’ history. On the way back we visited the wreck of the Montgomery again with a very informative commentary. The boat is small but takes around 100 people. Seating is a little bit tight but there are plenty of seats on the decks and everyone is free to walk around the boat as they please. All in all a great trip and really good value for money, Richard and Zack are both very knowledgeable and enthusiastic hosts with a genuine interest in what the places they are taking you to.

The trip was well organised and ran to time.
The cost of the ticket included the pier train fares or walking access so good value for money. The boat got really up close to the towers so the views were amazing.
The ride back to Southend Pier was extremely rough which was of course not the companies fault, however, the boat ‘cafe’ was still selling hot drinks in china mugs with no lids, we felt this is an accident waiting to happen as no one could walk in a straight line due to rough seas. Maybe cups with lids could be used in rough weather?
Overall, a recommended trip.

Interesting and fun boat ride to the wreck of the Montgomery. Crew were very knowledgeable and provided commentary throughout the tour, with some interesting facts. The boat though small was very stable, and has plenty of inside seating, and also seats at the bow which we chose for the best view.
One bit of advice, if you sit outside you may get wet; the estuary is very calm near the pier but as you get further out the waves meant that water came over the sides of the boat, so you might want to bring some waterproofs!
Definitely recommend this trip; the cost was very reasonable and included the Pier Train tickets too, or you can opt to take a walk along the pier. We took the train out, and walked back, which made it a nice afternoon's trip.
As the masts of the wreck are due to be removed soon, it's worth going to see them before they are gone for good.

This was a lovely cruise up the medway to the red sands forts. Taking approximately 5 hours in total it was great value for money. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and gave excellent commentary along the way. Hot and cold drinks available to purchase from the bar.

Do you go around & past Shivering Sands too?
Written April 30, 2019
Sorry, the trip passes by the Red Sand's only. On a clear day you can see the Shivering Sand Towers about 5 miles off but sadly too far to get out to in the 3 hours we have from Southend.

Is is possible to bring a dog along on the on the cruise trip?

Good Morning
Is there car parking where you pick up the boat from ?
If so, what are costs please.
Written July 29, 2016
There is a car park literally just past where Jetstream go from. Not sure of cost but nothing too outrageous.
Some on street parking too but watch the time limits
Have fun Richard will give you real blast.
Written July 29, 2016
