Really nice pub - always go in when in the area. Friendly staff, well-kept ales and a big beer garden out the back. Perfect for a warm afternoon.

Came to Rochester today, looked on the app for friendly doggie pubs And this was recommended So I went in to ask and was told by a unfriendly bar staff ( female) that dogs weren't allowed, i told her I found it on the app and she was very unfriendly So I don't recommend anyone going there

Nice big pub near blue boar lane. Very popular with real drinkers and they do food. It does get very busy at times which can cause a bottle neck of people queuing for a table and customers passing through the bar to get to the garden or the toilets which are down stairs. There is a disabled loo to the... More

A great pub that makes little changes throughout the week to appeal to a variety of customers at different times. There's usually at least three ales to choose from and a good selection of all the other standard drinks. Busy on a Thursday with live bands, busy on Sunday lunch with jazz and usually busy Friday and Saturday with mainstream... More

I have reviewed this pub before but as we usually go there during the day I thought I would add another review as we went there last night (Thursday). They have live music every Thursday and Sandra, the landlady said to us on a previous occasion that the band playing on this particular night, Beer Pressure, were particularly good. We... More

I visited this pub on a music evening. I was in a private conversation with a friend and swore. The landlady managed to hear this above the music and asked me to leave which I did. She then asked me to give back the bottle of beer I had just purchased which I considered unfair but I departed anyway. It... More

Nice pub to visit but better during the festivals. Nice outside space to sit and definately one of the better pubs to visit during the festivals.
