Great little cinema
Oct 2019
Great little cinema, well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Has both stalls and small circle area. Seats comfy and good view of screen. Screen and sound of reasonable quality. Great night out.

Has a great selection of films.... many not of the usual 'blockbuster' circuit and so a little more interesting. Understand it also regularly (once a month) has silent with a live piano accompaniment.

Great little traditional cinema

Another visit to this great independant cinema. Building well maintained. Great selection of films shown.... from the usual top 'blockbusters' to the more unusual and more interesting films which the large cinema chains don't bother with. Staff friendly and helpful. Decent screen and sound. Has both stalls and an upper floor/balcony, both offerring comfortable seating with decent rake so views unobstructed. Prices very good for a great experience.

What a gem!

We were staying in Broadstairs for a few days taking a trip down my husband's memory lane and passed by the cutest traditional cinema. There were 3 different films being shown that day. The one at 6 pm appealed to us (Woman at War - not mainstream but a really good film) so we decided to buy tickets. The cheery owner was in the tiny box office and sold us two tiny original style tickets for a fiver each (over 60s!). It's a small place with red velvet seats and none of the "in your face" stuff you get at multiplexes but all the essentials like loos, bags of sweets and bottles of wine. It was a great experience which I'd highly recommend. Long may it last.

Really friendly and welcoming. Vintage cinema with great films! Good prices, and so much more enjoyable than big commercial cinemas.

Home from home

I had not visited the cinema since my children were young but my daughter, now adult, wanted to see Mary Poppins and requested we see it at the palace for old time's sake.
It hadn't changed much and was cosy and comfortable on a cold winter's evening. Although the screen is not as large as in some of the more modern cinemas, it was perfectly adequate for us. Snacks and drinks were available at much cheaper prices than the larger cinemas.

First visit to this independent cinema
Feb 2019 • Friends
My first visit to this cinema. Located on road down to Broadstair's harbor. Staff friendly and helpful. Cinema small, but has a "stalls" and a"Circle". All seats are comfortable and offer a good view of a decent sized and good quality screen. Sound also good. Offers a good range of latest releases. Prices are very reasonable with concessions for over 60's. Well worth a visit instead of using Vue.

Often visit

As we live very close we often go to the palace .

It's a lovely old cinema but has all the up to date films and a film society.

Tickets are £5 for OAPs and you can book seats.

It's nice to support a local venue.
