Viking Bay in the summer is busy and the perfect beach for everyone, especially families. It has sand, the sea, a small harbour and at low tide a paddling/rock pool. It is safe and has RNLI lifeguards and amenities, plus it is close to the town and is 'dog free'. It has a wooden walk way allowing the disabled in... More

Plenty of restaurants and pubs plus the excellent connections with Charles Dickens. On a good clear day you can see France across the channel.

I just visited this bay two days ago. Obviously given that it's February and awfully cold out, it wasn't the greatest experience. However, my little girl, husband and I all had a nice time. The beach was...clean enough. I guess from where it's not high season, then beach may not be cleaned as often and it looked like the tide... More

Wonderful sunbathing bay in the summer, great walking during the winter. The children will be able to play here in safety.

We went here during Christmas and New Year. It was a beautiful day and we had a nice fresh walk along the sea front. The parking was very reasonable in price and plenty of spaces. There were loads of family's out which was so nice to see. I can imagine in the summer is it heaving but it was still... More

Viking Bay is a beautiful Victorian beach with a wonderful bay where children can safely play in the surf. It is very close to lots of pubs and restaurants for snacks or lunch.

I visited Viking Bay and Broadstairs Beach with some friends in August 2015. It's a really nice beach, beautiful golden sands and lovely blue sea, if you visit when the sea is rough, huge waves smash into the promenade creating amazing splashes. Great fun, well worth a visit.

A long held tradition in this beautiful yet sleepy seaside gem is the New Year's Day dip. Freezing cold weather and an unforgiving English Channel is still not enough to dissuade locals and those who have seen or heard of it and travel from afar to take part. Gathering on the beach ready for a midday dip, people come in... More
