Layouts directed at children, artifacts for the grown ups. mainly railway, bit about broadstairs.
Enjoyable 2/3 hours wandering about looking at allsorts. Staffed by knowledgeable enthusiasts.Exhibits seen to be constantly worked on, so next time their will be something new to look at

Santa special
Dec 2019
Visited today with my 2 granddaughters (8 and 5) who loved the model train layouts, spotting the cows and sheep in the fields and pressing the buttons to work the trains. But the most memorable part of the visit was meeting Father Christmas and his hard working elves. The girls were captivated by the elves workshop and their meeting with Father Christmas was so special, I think they will remember it for many years (I know I will). Thank you so much to all involved in making this a magical experience for us all.

Crampton Towers
Aug 2019 • Solo
After giving directions to students for many years and realising that I had never been there myself decided to visit today What a great museum plenty to see and do(who doesn't like to play with a train set)and lots of information about Thomas Crampton and his contribution to engineering and the railway. Visit the onsite gallery for photos depicting bygone days of Broadstairs and surrounding areas. Well worth a visit.

Disappointed
Jul 2019
Drive past it looked it was going to be interesting. Not there long and it was boring. Could do all in 10 minutes. Disappointed with the model villages to,thought they would be better. Wished i never went.

Well worth a visit if in Broadstairs

We visited this attraction today as they had a classic car show on site as well . Crampton Tower was designed by an engineer associated to the railways in the area . There are some other buildings that have various displays shows and a must for all ages.

Father Christmas Visit!
Dec 2018 • Family
We visited here for the first time today to see Father Christmas. It was a really sweet experience that the kids loved. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and really engaged with the kids. We spent a lot of time in the hall where they had lots of toys for them to play with and tea and coffee at 50p a cup. Climbing the tower past his elves to see Father Christmas was a nice touch and the gift was of high quality. I would highly recommend a visit.

visit with 30 children
Sep 2018 • Family
we took 30 Beaver scouts to Crampton's Tower Museum cost minimal but staff informative to every last detail. loads to see from engines, plans, history of rail travel and 1800 models. trains of every discerption. The children could play with a lot.
plenty of Broadstairs history.
Model railways, local stage coach,95% of the attraction easy to access and walk around.
Some steps in old water reservoir but well worth the visit. The tower it's self obviously the are stairs but worth the small climb. Stairs are fairly new so very safe.
They seem to have special days with activities during the year.
We spent 40 minutes at the museum but time is a personal space.
2 minutes walk from the station, on the main bus route, car parking, shops near by,5 minutes walk from main high-street.
children will love it, worth a visit.

Worth a visit!!!!
Jun 2018 • Friends
The whole thing was very interesting, there was lots to see and plenty of broadstairs and East Kent history. Very interactive for children and adults alike. I had great fun making the trains move round the tracks. Definitely worth a visit, the staff are lovely and the gift shop very reasonably priced.

Tucked away from the seafront so too easily missed
May 2018 • Couples
This is a very interesting museum that is easily overlooked but not to be missed if you like railways and public transport. There are multiple high quality model railway exhibits.
