Such a beautiful beach, mainly sand but with some pebbles to make sandcastles or admire the different colours. Saw someone swimming in the sea. We visited around 5pm on a Sunday evening and it was very peaceful

Plenty of parking nearby, with only a short walk to the beach. Parking is reasonable priced at only £3.30 for all day.
The beach is lovely with gently sloping sand into the water. Do check the tides though because at high tide the sea comes right into the wall, covering all the sand. Because of this don't expect any permanent visitor facilities on the sand itself.
Good facilities close by; toilets, shops, fish and chips, fairground.
One improvement would be if there was foot showers on the promenade access to clean the sand off when leaving.

Great place for a long quiet walk, make sure the tide is going out and you cam walk for miles. Hornsea is usually quiet and parking is either cheap (about £3.50 a day) or free with plenty of options near the beach. This is a great place to take photos, have a picnic, chill out or walk to Skipsea or Withernsea (watch the tide).

Great day out, relaxing day by local beach... and then.....
Popped to Huckleberry's prom cafe, to be rushed in and asked what we wanted, just looking around and again abruptly asked what we wanted. Ice cream we all wanted, "what flavour, what cone" no idea because we hadn't had chance to look! Was told the board was outside! I couldn't believe this women's attitude! My Mother then got charged £9.50! For 2 ice creams! Yes 2!! No prices displayed anywhere..BE CARFUL...

We had a great walk along the front and beach from one end to the other. It was a cold, brisk day. There were A LOT of other people and dogs who had the same idea as us and WE spent much of the time dodging other people who were determined to continue walking 2 and 3 abreast! We walked on the beach as much as possible but you have to climb over wooden barriers at regular intervals.

Hornsea has a beach throughout its seafront. The seafront promenades are accessible to buggies and wheelchairs. There are timber groins at regular intervals throughout the towns waterfront which are designed to retain sand. And protect the promenade. To the north the beach is mainly sand with areas of stones and white chalk cobbles. There are usually sandy areas above the high water mark on all but the biggest spring tides. Access is from the promenade down ramps and steps.
The central beach is again mainly sand with some areas of stone. Areas of clay can be uncovered after storms. Much of the central beach covers at high water on most tides. Access to this area is again via ramps and steps from the twin level promenade.
The southern beach is predominantly sand. Easy access can be gained to the beach near the clock tower or adjacent to Hornsea inshore rescue station. There is also car parking available within a 5 minute walk from the seafront.
Notes: The rear of the beach has large rocks to protect the sea defence wall.
Commercial crab fishermen park boat trailers on the beach adjacent to the rescue slipway so families should keep an eye on the youngsters at all times.
Angling: All the waterfront is popular with sea anglers particularly during autumn and winter when cod whiting dabs and flounder can be plentiful.

We visited here after being disappointed with Bridlington. At first it looked great. Lovely sandy beach. There was a bit of a smell, we thought it was the toilets at first but the smell continued all the way along the sea front. Only disappeared near the chip shop when that aroma took over! We put up with it for a bit. Then we noticed we were covered in flies. Little tiny flies. On your clothes. In your hair. On your face. As soon as you sat down they seemed to cover you. We headed back to the car after 30 minutes and yes you guessed it.. the car was covered in tiny black flies, spiders and other insects. Never seen anything like it. All of the cars on the car park were the same. Such a shame as on first sight it looked perfect.

Was impressed with Hornsea Sea front.
Especially the promenade. It had sloping walkways descending to the beach so easy access for Parma wheelchairs etc.
The beach and promenade were full of people as it was a lovely day. Also the promenade was designed in such a way it had seating all along the Lower prom.
Plenty Free toilets too
Large New development was visible and almost completed.
Lovely little resort.

Visited Hornsea today. Lovely clean beach and not too crowded. We sat on the beach opposite the leisure centre which is a lovely wet sand beach. Further along were sand and shingle beaches. The tide came in early (about 1pm!!) so we had a couple hours on the beach then walked along to the fair/cafes. There’s a few chip shops, ice cream places and beach shops. A couple of amusements and a small fair that was there for the summer. Rides on the fair were £3. Fish and chips £5-£8 so quite a cheap day. Free toilets in the leisure centre, And lots of beach side parking £5 for day. We spent about 4 hours (could have done longer) had a lovely time.

spent a Saturday afternoon here, it was quieter than tbe other East Coast resorts.
The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles with wooden breakwaters every 75/100m.
There were public toilets, a few chippys, ice cream stalls and gift shops along the front.
One amusement arcade.
Large caravan site at the bottom end and the Marina pub at the top.
I used to come here as a child 40 years ago and this was the first time I'd been back.
There's lots of free parking on nearby streets or a couple of pay and display car parks.
Very disappointed with the lack of disability access to the beach so people were having to lift prams etc over the barrier.
As always with the north sea there was a breeze
