You reach the heights by cable car from the valley in Matlock Bath. The ride is picturesque over the river and up the hillside. At the top there are two cave systems to visit, a tower to climb, childrens park area and a restaurant.

Not been on a cable car before was something different, the view over the town and river was very good. We didn't have much time so didn't spend as much time as we could have. The thing that made it was the lady on the cave tour who was very enthusiastic , knowledgeable and amusing. Little expensive though at 15... More

Even though the area is outstanding and the caves are worth a visit the price of the cable cars are well over priced. The food in the restaurant is very poor standard and staff area not that friendly.

Had a nice day out here. Plenty to see and do. Interesting history of the industry in the area, and a couple of decent little play parks for youngsters (although we didn't have any with us!). Spectacular views of the area from the top.

Took the cable car to the top (£15), had a nice lunch and wonder about. Food was ok, service friendly. Great views from the restaurant. Went on the tour of the cave which was interesting. Lots of steps, and you need to bend whilst walking up some of them, but it's at an easy pace, with stops when you can... More

Very good for families or a seniors reunion, as was our case. Wonderful panorama to reminisce, as well as talk about the future, while enjoying a nice coffee and the view from the terrace. Lovely descent on foot. The location was also very clean.
