We went as two families.
Nice welcome and the kids immediately wanted to go on the pirate ship.
Following that many go’s on the rides at the top of the park, JCB land and the clip on harness flying ride (worth the queue). Everyone really enjoyed it.

My daughters loved the couple of days we spent here. We stayed 2 nights in the hotel, in a pirate room, which was better than they imagined it would be. They really enjoyed the evening entertainment and loved Magik Ash, he’s one of the reasons they have asked to go back again.
Rides were ideal for the youngest daughter, particularly as she’s always been wary of theme park rides, she went on everything she wanted to try out and has got the adrenaline bug now.

Only a couple of negatives for us, in particular the lack of food choices, especially at the hotel. Breakfast was a cereal bar, piece of fruit and carton of juice for the children, cereal bar swapped for a pain au chocolat for grown ups.
Park is dated, but it doesn’t claim to be Alton Towers or similar. Toilets were pretty bad at times, but that can be the case with a lot of places.

We had a lovely time. Three adults and four children aged 7, 6, 5 & 3. I’d read the reviews and wasn’t expecting much, but the park turned out better than I expected.

Logistics - the parking is really close to the entrances and exits. This is great for tired little legs.
We took all our own food and drink so can’t comment on catering outlets.
I’m glad we didn’t take the pram. There are some extremely steep bits so definitely wear sturdy footwear. The views are amazing. It’s a beautiful place to be.
Toilets were fine. Nothing out of the ordinary when compared to most public facilities, but yes, could do with a refresh.

The staff were great. We had bags and we had to wait at some points for a spare grown up as we were outnumbered and children have to be accompanied on many of the rides. But they were always patient and helpful and were kind to the children.

We never quite knew what to expect when queuing for the rides - it’s not clear until the staff member tells you whether children can go on by themselves etc. But we didn’t have any problems - so we times we just had to take turns.

I liked the mix of interactive stuff, rides, play parks and walks. There are loads of little surprises like the musical frog pond and the moving dinosaurs. I liked that it’s really targeted at young children. It makes it better than Alton towers for us as almost everything is accessible to them.

I get the comments from people saying it’s tired, but outdoor stuff usually is. It gets a battering in the elements.

We didn't see any of the shows. They werent that appealing sounding really. But to be fair, it’s a short day compared to Alton towers and we were there 1030-4pm and still missed out loads so I don’t think they need to add more in.

Queues were absolutely fine. We didn’t join any long queues because the rides around the corner were empty so we just went on those instead. we usually waited up to ten minutes per ride but walked straight onto most. We went on almost every ride. Many of them twice.

We did queue for the zip line - that took about 45 mins I think, but we didn’t notice. It’s sometimes nice to just stand and chat, have snacks and enjoy the anticipation. Well worth it too. Only the three year old didn’t go on it, and we all loved it.

So if you go outnumbered by children, just expect to have to take turns rather than sending the bigger one on their own.

The park was well organised and plenty of sanitiser around. There were plenty of rides for our children 7 and 5 to enjoy, a couple of more exciting rides for the older kids (my wife and her sister) . The nice thing to find was no extras except food and drink which you could avoid. The rides where included.

The park could do with a bit of regeneration but times have been hard and they are obviously trying to provide.

Age of this theme park should be changed to from age 2 to 7
Nothing here for 13 years olds
Food booths are rubbish and that's if they are open. Toilets smell of stale urine.
The whole park needs a make over and brought screaming 🦖 into the 21st Century..Even the Halloween ghost 👻 was a snowman costume on back to front 😂🤣

Visited here with an 8 year old and 10 year old - we had planned to go to Alton Towers and when we couldn't get tickets chose Gulliver's instead for a fraction of the price. As others have commented, it is a little run down and resembled Potters Pink Paradise off Phoenix Nights in parts, but there were no queues and it was easy enough to navigate the site. Food was priced as you'd expect for a captive audience - £10 for a pizza, £5.50 for a hot dog and £1.95 for a sausage roll. The staff were kind enough to let us leave the car parked up whilst we went into Matlock for an hour which was much appreciated.

Had our annual visit to the the park which has become a tradition in our family this time of year. 2 adults and 4 children aged 4, 8, 10 and 12. Lots to do, fabulous scenery, extremely friendly and helpful staff. A massive thank you to the young man operating the Log Flume who found my glasses and kept them safe for me. Simply a wonderful day out.

Positives..small queues, not spread out so good for small children. Good selection of rides for under 10s
Negatives..rundown overall and I’m the main staff looked like they didn’t want to be working

Be prepared for some steep hills between the rides and attractions.

Overall we had a great day. Take a packed lunch to avoid the poor value-for-money food offering.

Staff need a bit of a pep talk about how to smile and enhance the customers’ experience. Maybe management team need to visit peppa pig world to see happy staff.
