First thing noticed was the weird setting at the entrance. Very small! Arts mostly local. Some nice but not overly impressive. You can have a nice walk afterwards in the gardens. There is a very nice modern architecture house if you walk toward the mansion seen from the museum. Actually more worth visiting.

Because we were in the neighbourhoud and it was raining "cats and dogs" we decided to visit the Museum Belvedere. Excellent architecture which blends into the landscape with a permanent collection with the emphasis on Friesland artists. This makes the museum special because nowhere in the Netherlands you can see a collection like this one

Frequently changing art exhibitions in a stunning location at Oranjewoud. Excellent cafe and a stroll in the woods after lunch

Nice museum, beautiful location, poor collection. We knew it would be a small museum. Also that it mainly present modern art; but the quality and the way presented could be significantly improved. The exhibition in April 2016 looked as made by some local amateurs rather than well selected artist.

the location of this restaurant wich is inside a museum is very nice. the food is a bit simple and lunch orientated. the prices are good. you need to order at a counter like as in a canteen buffet.

Interesting modern art fitting well with the local landscape; the artists presented are mostly local artist of quality that take their inspiration from the colors and shapes of this beautiful part of Friesland. The architecture is daring and I like it a lot. Combine with a walk around in the nice woods.

This museum café was literally in our backyard, and while we loved its location, straddling the canal with a great view of the water... the food and value was just so-so. The menu is a bit limited, but decent given the size of the museum! Great place to grab a sandwich or some soup, a koffie, some gebak [pie, cake,... More

The museum is wonderful. It is beautifully located and the exhibitions are mostly really good. The restaurant is nice and looks out over the water. Well worth it.

A lark was rising . And so did our spirits when we were in this museum. A lot of very uplifting paintings, (Jan Mankes, Gerrit Benner and more) A very good temporary exhibition as well. Good coffee, beautiful building, very happy day!
