At the time of Pliny, during the Roman Empire, Peschiera was called Arilica and had already a considerable importance. Later, in the next centuries, it was fortified by the Scaligeri, by Venice, Austria and Italy. The walls were designed by famous...more
Once one of the main fortress under Venetian control. Due to its location at the point where the Lake Garda ends and the river Mincio starts, it was well sought after. It is a clear example of water fortress and now also a Unesco World...More
I love Peschiera del Garda, safe , clean and sat on the beautiful Lake Garda , it gives you access to Italy and indeed the rest of Europe from the train station. Take the local ferry around the lake and you'll see even more towns...More
The area around the lake itself is stunning. Relaxed vibes and beautiful scenery BUT be careful of your belongings.

The old city walls around the historic centre are still almost entirely intact.
But it's still a nice place for a stroll through the narrow shopping streets.
This will have been my 3rd visit to Peschiera and I love it, stunning views from the lake, amazing town with lots of places to eat and have a drink, there is boat tours, prison tours, museum, shopping, markets, and the locals are very friendly,...More
