I have followed Monica on Twitter for some time so I was already aware of her bubbly enthusiasm! We enjoyed trying the lovely wines and cicchetti and it gave us confidence to do this on our own in future. Monica also gave us excellent insider tips on where to eat, shop, and on exhibitions and cultural places to visit. It was a privilege to get a local’s viewpoint on this fabulous city. We’ve been to Venice before, but this tour gave us new ideas and perspectives, definitely worth it!

Myself and my husband did this tour in January and it was the highlight of our trip. Monica was a brilliant host, whose detailed and intimate knowledge of her city combined made this one of the highlights of our trip, we would highly recommend this insightful tour to anyone looking for a delightful evening in Venice!

We arrived, dropped our bags and met Monica for our first evening in Venice. It was a fabulous adventure to learn and be introduced to local food and wine from this region. We appreciated her immense knowledge and story telling of the city she loves. The booking process and communication was excellent. Following our tour, she sent an extensive email of recommendations for restaurants, her friend Alessia a glass jewellery artisan in Murano where we bought my daughter’s birthday present, booking a superb lunch restaurant in Burano... even to an Optical designer for new Venetian spectacles! We highly recommend Monica and advise to ideally have your tour when you first arrive in Venice. Best wishes

Monica's tour of Venice for cichetti felt remarkable to my sister and me. We only had a short time in the city, but Monica helped us take full advantage of feeling like a Venetian by bringing us to small, friendly places where she seamlessly described the food, the choices of wine and the people around us. We loved every bite and every word, too, as she talked with us about the city she loves with such abandon. No one can go wrong by using her seamless booking service. She was dependably there at the bridge meeting us and we were enchanted by the time we parted company.

Wanted to book Monica for a cichetti tour. On 20 Sep, she wrote asking for deposit payment via PayPal. As credit card fees are exorbitant, I was hoping to send her a bank transfer but no she didn't accept, so OK fine. Yes, it is my fault I forgot about the payment until 3 days later. Nonetheless, it is still a rude shock that when I finally made the payment, Monica told me she got booked to cook a dinner on the date I wanted the tour. Any professional guide should have just checked in & quickly ask if I am still interested, instead of committing to something else when someone is already interested in booking her. It is only right to drop a reminder. People could get distracted & forget about acting on something until days later. So if you are unfortunately booking her for tours, please go & pay her immediately because she doesn't care that we are busy people & we might forget to make a payment until days later. Monica, my card is not a EUR card. You refund me EUR doesn't mean the bank send me back the same SGD amount they billed me. So thanks to you, I'm likely losing a few dollars too, on top of having to waste time to find myself another tour.

Thank you for, as you called it on your email to me, your "lovely review", but for the people who reads us let's get all the story straight. On 20th September you booked your tour for 16th October ( so for 3 weeks times) through my online calendar on my website where it clearly states I take a deposit via Paypal - nowhere on the site it says I take bank transfers - so you knew before you booked you had to pay via Paypal. I immediately replied that to carry on with the booking you had to pay a deposit of Euro 40,00 via Paypal. Again nowhere on my email I ever mentioned I take bank transfers or that I take full payments. You replied you want to pay in full and via bank transfer. I immediately replied explaining why I do not take bank transfer and why I do not take full payment: that way it is faster, easier and does not cost anything to anybody if I have to make a refund - since Paypal refunds in full, deleting the transaction. Like it never happened! You never replied to this email - all you had to do was to aknowledge the receipt of the email and tell me you were going to pay the deposit after the weekend. Should have taken about 1 minute to do so. A thing that most people do, so I can hold the place for them. Usually when people do not answer, it means they do not want to proceed. Today, three days later, you sent the deposit, without even replying to my email to check if the tour was still available. Now, if you called a restaurant to book a table and they ask you to secure it with a card and you tell them you get back to them and then you do so after 3 days, do you think the restaurant will have held the table for you? Or call you to check if you are still interested? If you go and try to book a flight but you do not have a card at the moment, does the airlines hold the place for you? Or send you a reminder? I do not think so. So I do not understand why you expected me to write to you since I never received any aknowledgement of your receipt of my email. And I find it a bit funny that on your email to me you say, and I quote you, "I am not sitting around with nothing to do but immediately act on my emails. People can get caught up in many things. "...but you had plenty of time to write this long review. Anyhow, I am sorry for the misunderstaning, I refunded you as I said I would, the moment I got back to the pc. And Paypal deletes the transaction refunding in full. And so will your card.
