This is an absolute must. If you enjoy MTB this is something you must try. We were three guys looking for a track or guide to give us an experience for half a day. They took care of everything and were very flexible in the set up and booking. The area and tracks are perfect and the views are stunning. But what really made this a very memorable tour was the guide. He was very experienced and knew the area to the last detail. Polite, descent and a true guide. He was able to find a combination of tracks very easily that suited us perfectly. Don't hesitate to book and enjoy.

We had a wet, but wonderful day cycling in the Chianti region with our expert guide Gian from Tuscany MTB Guide. Gian is a very professional and pleasant guide who took us on a beautiful 35-40 km circular route from Tavarnelle, combining off-road trails and quiet roads. None of us expected so much rain, with the resulting muddy paths that we kept trying to avoid and the missing paths that forced us to recalculate the route. However, Gian handled this with poise and purpose. As we rode, Gian provided an historical and cultural context for this beautiful agricultural region and the many villages we rode through and/or saw.
They provided the rental-bikes, for a separate fee, as per our request. We definitely recommend Tuscany MTB for your guided bike tour.

Guided by Gian I spent an excellent day with real mountain biking. He provided an excellent fully MTB. The tour included flowy single trails through a marvellous forest and challenging trails partly flown away by tremendous rain last fall. It was a superb experience and when I come back to Tuscany I will surely contact Tuscany MTB Guides again!

I had a great ride in the hills and forests outside Siena with Tuscany MTB guide, yesterday. I chose the more but not too technical half day tour and it more than lived up to my expectations.
Gian was my guide and he took note of my requirements and supplied 3 hours of great riding and a carbon Felt 29er, full suss bike which was better than perfect.
The day was so good that I'm going to book another tour next week in Viareggio with Gian.
Thank you my new friend, from a very happy rider.

We booked a guide for 1 day during our holidays in Tuscany in July 2013.

Our guide picked us up at our holiday address and we stared for a educational ride from San Gimignano to Certaldo...during the trip he explained to us lot of things about the history and culture of Tuscany and showed us many historic places.
We stopped a a wine-tasting farm where the mother of house surprised us with lovely home made lasagna ....
We took also off-road paths and drove 65KM with 1600 altitude meters.

We had a great day with a excellent guide....

greetings from a happy MTB-er

My husband and I took a great bike tour around Greve and the Chianti area. We passed by Badia a Passignano, with a beautiful monestary, biking mainly on dirt roads. It was picturesque biking, through olive groves and vineyards, and was pretty challenging at the beginning when we biked on the way up to a main road. We never would have been able to plan such a trip ourselves, considering that some routes weren't even on the map and it was a 5+ hour ride. My favorite part was the wine tasting and appetizers in the middle of the ride (although my husband calls me soft for saying that) and the long descent that took us back to the starting point. Overall, pretty great.

We were two fit fifty something couples that spent 4 days mountain biking with Gian as our guide .
The scenery and routes were wonderful and it's a great way to experience many hidden gems that you wouldn't ordinarily see.
Although you might not think so tuscany can be very hilly and challenging in the heat so unless very fit an e mountain bike might be a good idea.
Trails can be a mix of paths and trails or single track depending on your liking.
Gian also gave us a great sunrise early morning ride through Florence which was wonderful.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend Gian.

My partner and I spent an unforgettable and invigorating mountain biking for 7+ hours on the back roads of Tuscany, in the Chianti region. Gian, our guide, was a total pro in all ways, making me feel at super at ease. Gian speaks fluent English, having studied in the United States, and was very responsive to all email communications leading up to the tour. Gian knew that I had never been on a mountain bike and had never ridden off road before. He designed a perfect excursion that was exquisitely beautiful and challenging, but never too difficult to manage. He even brought an e-motor in the event I couldn't handle the climbs (I'm proud to say that I never had to use it!) . Gian was superb in his knowledge of the region and chose an excellent lunch spot in lovely Monteriggiani. He also clued us in on a fabulous winery on the way that few tourists would normally come across. We stopped there and had a tasting of some superb Chianti wines. If you really want to see the unspoiled Tuscan countryside up close without having to deal with scary traffic on typical roads, this is the tour for you.

Picture perfect mountain biking through the hills of tuscany. Guide was great he gave lots of information on the area and took me through many different trails. I was a little bit worried that it was going to a slow "touristy" type ride, but when I got there my guide Gianfranco, asked what type of riding I would like and he didn't disappoint. It was a great mix of long double track and tight fun flowing single track. We even rode some fun technical climbs up the thermal spa pathway in bagno vignoni.
Thank you to Tuscany MLB Guide and to Gianfranco

We spent 4 great, wonderful days mountain biking with Gian around Impruneta, Florence, San Giminiano, Pinenza. He got us great bikes, chose exactly the type of trails our group wanted, showed us the nicest places in the towns, villages, country side, forests and made us work just as needed. It could not be better.
