About
PININO is located in the north of Montalcino, embedded like a natural amphitheatre into the beautiful and famous hillside of Montosoli. This unique geographical location, which once attracted the wealthy of Montalcino, has become known as one of the best areas of the region for wine production. PININO produces PININO Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC from Sangiovese grapes sourced exclusively from our vineyards situated in two locations in Montalcino. PINONE Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva wines are produced only in exceptional vintages. Our latest addition is Vigna Pinino, our single-vineyard Brunello, produced only by the vines in the Montosoli hill. The cultivation, vinification, and aging all follow the strict guidelines of the “Consorzio del Brunello”.

After drinking one of their amazing wines, we found their website online and decided to plug the coordinates into our GPS and see if they would allow us to tour and wine taste. We turned down the dirt road (with other wineries along it) and followed it until the very end. A lovely woman came outside and happily accommodated us with a tour and tasting. She said that they receive <10 visitors a month but had no problem opening bottles of wine and telling us the story of their winery and production. The winery was recently acquired by an Austrian and Spaniard they are dedicated to continuing the quality and production of their wonderful wines. They have won numerous awards over the years, which are proudly displayed. We left with a beautiful box of wine and were very happy for our non-touristic experience. Worth a beautiful ride to visit them!
