We had a superb full day tour with Alexandra. She selected three family-run wineries spanning many generations enabling us to explore Montalcino wine and understand the differences in the aroma/taste due to the varying terrain (the terroir), microclimate and winemakers own style. It was a unique experience to meet with each of the owners and to see their passion for winemaking. I felt a particular collection with the final winery of the day “Pombaia”. Francesco’s passion for the earth and wine was evident and it will always be something I remember. Our day included a delicious lunch during which Alexandra guided us on how to pair wine effectively with food. We came away both enlightened and excited to develop our appreciation of wine. I have been lucky to go on a number of wine tours which I have always enjoyed but our day with Alexandra has given us so much more knowledge that we can take with us. Whilst some reviews reference the cost I feel this was great value for an investment in myself benefitting both my heart and mind!

As the first reviewer to not give a five star rating I feel I must justify my decision by agreeing that this is certainly a full day spent listening to Alexandra and learning about the serious subjects of wine making and pairing but at €800 for a group of four it was an expensive experience. By the third winery it was apparent that my group was struggling to be enthusiastic about any of the wines and we were surprised to be left sitting rather uncomfortably in Alexandra’s car while she conversed at length with the wine maker elsewhere.
I have perhaps been spoilt by earlier excellent wine tours with Viaggi dAmbra in Chianti - sampling DOC and DOCG wines during a fun and informative day whilst enjoying first class food in beautiful surroundings for half the price.

What an experience! We had a fantastic day with Alexandra who showed us around Castello Tricerchi winery. We saw various stages of the wine making process and Alexandra was so informative and knowledgeable about the process, she could answer any question we threw at her. We then went through to a private room and had an initial food & wine pairing - tasting various Brunello’s and Rosso’s with antipasti foods. Followed by a delicious two course lunch (with wine of course) and then coffee!
Overall an amazing day and a must do in the Montalcino area. We will definitely be passing on Alexandra’s contact details to friends / family and want to thank her very much for the wonderful experience!

Since the planning phase, Alexandra was great to tailor the best experience on our preferences, a mix of fine wine tasting and visiting the most suggestive wineries.
She designed for us a perfect afternoon, taking us on a true
discovery tour through different regions of the Montalcino county and wine making philosophies. Not only it has been a very enriching experience and a pleasure for the senses, but also a very enjoyable day thanks to Alexandra's friendly touch.
Highly recommended by all means!

Had a really fantastic day out with Alexandra visiting Podere Le Ripi and Castello Tricerchi, the choice of which was excellent. I was thoroughly impressed by her knowledge and passion as a sommelier. We learned a lot during the day while it was fun, authentic and balanced. It is hard to imagine a better tour guide and collaborative teacher, personally, I would not look elsewhere on my next trip. And so I look forward to my next wine tasting tour supported by kind and friendly Alexandra.

We spent a day with Alexandria. As we were staying in Florence she made suggestions on transportation to meet her. During the course of the day we visited three very different wineries and had a wonderful lunch. Alexandria's knowledge of wine and the local area only added to an exceptional day.

Alexandra gave my daughter, her partner and me a truly amazing one day experience that exceeded out expectations. We visited three amazing vineyards and wineries exploring growing and winemaking techniques as well as an amazing lunch where she demonstrated various wine and food parings. We sampled an 100 point Brunello which has become one of my favorite wines that I order directly from the owner of the estate. Alexandra is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the estates in the Montalcino and the wines they produce. We had such a great time and learned so much. We can’t wait to go back and tour some of the other vineyards with her. Our tour was in July 2019 but the site wouldn’t offer that as an option.

Our experience with Select Wine Tasting and Alexandra was absolutely amazing. Every detail was well planned from the transportation, to the wine tours themselves, to the delicious farm to table lunch we had. Alexandra is an expert in Tuscan wines and we learned so much from both her and the owners of the wineries we visited. She curated a nice range of wineries from small to large for our visits and each place was unique with wonderful wines. I highly recommend a Select Wind Tasting tour on your next trip to Tuscany!

My daughter and I spent a day with Select Wine Tasting and could not have had a more enjoyable experience. We learned a great deal, tasted wonderful wines, and felt welcomed at each vineyard and tasting room. It was the highlight of an extraordinary visit to both Tuscany and Rome. I fully intend to reach out to Alexandra again when next we visit as I know there is so much more to explore.

Alexandra has a great passion to teach people about wine! And we were happily willing to learn! We spent the day visiting 3 wineries and learning so much about the dedication that these winemakers have for their finished product. I will approach that glass of wine in a whole new way. The wine and food pairing was eye opening. When it is right, it is heavenly! We were lucky enough to be there when the olives were being pressed. Alexandra called her friend and we visited the farm and were able to buy olive oil pressed hours earlier.Our day spent with Alexandra was the highlight of our trip!
