About
The estate of Castelgiocondo, is located in the southwest of Montalcino, an ideal terroir for Sangiovese and for the great wines that are produced here. The vineyards are found at the perfect altitude between 300 and 400 metres with well-drained soils and sunny, favorable southwest exposure.

Truly romantic experience!
Aug 2018 • Couples
Tenuta Castelgiocondo is in one word Perfect.

The impressive history of the Frescobaldi family and their wine-making legacy speaks for itself, but the estate is simply amazing.

The extremely romantic setting, with its stunning 360 degrees views over the most beautiful of Tuscany landscapes will be everything you ever imagined from a Tuscany manor. The grandeur of the estate itself. The great facilities and the modern and very stylish rooms (freshly redecorated). Everything is in impeccable state and will exceed your expectations. The great food and of course the unrivaled Frescobaldi wines will make your visit unforgettable. What makes the picture complete is the people working there. So kind, thoughtful, knowledgable and most of all: friendly.

Castelgiocondo is the place where I have asked my girlfriend to marry me, and it was simply perfect. After searching through pretty much all of southern Tuscany for the perfect location, I finally found Castelgiocondo, and I am so happy that I did. It could not have been a more perfect setting for a proposal. In the preparations, the great people of Castelgiocondo were so enthousiastic and they were really thinking along on how to make this the most special occasion for us. Nothing was too much for them.

Thank you to everyone at Frescobaldi and Castelgiocondo. A special thank you to Teresa, Maria and Valentina for making this day a perfect day to remember for the rest of our lives.

Visit this estate! Whether it is for a afternoon wine-tasting, a special event or an overnight stay. You will not regret it!!!

The wines are fantastic but what really sets this apart from the other wine tasting is the magical setting. It is incredible. Don’t miss this. The service was spectacular.

Amazing winery tour and tasting!
Dec 2017 • Family
We were blown away by the experience at the Luce vineyard at Tenuta di Castelgiocondo! Teresa was our guide and she was phenomenal both through the process of setting up the tour and patient and kind with our family (which included young children) during the tour itself. The icing on the cake was the truly idyllic setting for the amazing wine tasting with meat and cheese platters and olive oil tasting. Absolutely would recommend this vineyard, and especially this wine! Thank you Teresa!

Loved Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo
Mar 2017 • Couples
We booked a wine tour at Frescobaldi Castelgiocondo Montalcino via internet. Communication via email was easy and we got all responses promptly. We drove from Rome and it was easy to find location. Everything there was so beautiful, service was great and staff was really nice and polite. Our tour guide Teressa was so pleasant and we got to learn a lot about the place and wines. We booked Light lunch option and it was quite romantic plus tasty. Wine we tasted were also great. Scenery and nature are really beautiful. Overall, great experience and Montalcino was perfect choice for wine tasting in Tuscany.

If you can only visit one winery in Tuscany, this is the one.

I received a six pack of Frescobaldi from a close friend for my fiftieth birthday. Ever since finding a good enough reason to open one of the bottles, I've enjoyed these six bottles immensely. From smoking a wonderful Cuban cigar sitting above the fishing grounds I've grown to love in the Queen Charlotte Islands of B.C., to spending a great evening of wine tasting at a friend's home that has introduced me to more wonderful wines than I can imagine. A family member's master's degree, a son's wedding. Each occasion was truly special and this wonderful wine accompanied each. I ran out of my favorite, and when my wife and I finally decided to visit Italy in person, Tenuta Di Castelgiocondo was my only true "must see" venue.
Sadly with all that buildup, there was almost no chance for the winery visit to meet expectations............ That statement turned out to be so vastly untrue. Our tour was wonderful, Teresa has just the right mixture of youth mixed with admiration for her ancestors work and the continued excellence Castelgiocondo continues to strive for an achieve. Every nuance of wine making is fully understood and translated to easy to understand language for anyone lucky enough to have her tour you through the winery. Her exuberant and educated responses, in perfect English for us Westerners (our Austrian friends both also spoke perfect English to our benefit). The small group was a big bonus, as we finished up our tour and came to our appointed areas to sit, taste, take in the amazing panoramic views and compare four exquisit wines produced by Castelgiocondo. I may as well have been dreaming, I couldn't think this setting up in my wildest imaginatory state. Teresa lead our two couples to separate tables with just enough privacy to fully cut loose, laughing at our good fortune and almost a bit embarrassed. We suddenly felt as if we had been mistaken for Royalty, but decided to play it out before we were discovered and banished from this bit of heaven.
Three wonderful Riserva (2005,2009, 2010) and a splendid wine I had yet to sample (LaMaione 2013). Our fairytale setting included a personal attendant, four beautiful wine goblets each, a platter of delectable cheeses, breads, Virgin Olive Oil, Prosciutto, and ham. I could go on and on and on, but I might wake up.
This is a must stop for wine lovers, lovers, or people just wanting to experience a wonderful Tuscan adventure, that cannot be duplicated anywhere else, it's just the best.

Just Excellent
Jun 2017 • Business
Tenuta di Castelgiocondo is part of the prominent Frescobaldi family of wineries in Italy. I went there as an organizer of a group of 25 people for tour and wine tasting. The premises is divided into the main winery facilities (offices, winery, storage, etc), and the Castelgiocondo Castle in a nearby hill, overlooking the area in 360 view. We had a guided tour of the winery by our wonderful host Teresa followed by a wine tasting of some of their finest labels accompanied by some local snacjs, in the Castelgiocondo Castle tasting room. Our visit there, can only be described as excellent, while their wines live up to their reputation.

Truly unique experience.

My wife and I had a terrific day at CG. We followed their direction instruction carefully and could reach there on time. We were greeted warmly by Ms. Teresa who for us is a real Brand Ambassador with lots of wine knowledge and sincere hospitality. We were shown the incubating and fermenting facilities, then the wine “library” in which old wine was kept for future reference. Then we saw the field where grapes are meticulously nurtured to their best condition which is the most critical path of making good wine. We had lunch which was scrupulously prepared and served by Maria. Pairing Maria’s graceful food with excellent wines, both white and red, made this lunch heavenly perfect. Even though that Luce sangiovese 2014 is still quite young and maturing but it’s very aromatic and fruitful tastefully.

So friendly and Beautiful
Sep 2016 • Couples
Four of us toured the winery and vineyards, which are set atop the hills with a spectacular view. Teresa was thoughtful and informative about all aspects of making their brunello and other wines. We tasted grapes in the vineyard and toured the production facilities and cellar. The wine and olive oil tasting at the end were very enjoyable. Pay attention to where to meet, as google or apple will take you to the castle and not the production facility where you start.
