This family owned winery was a gem of a winery. The red wine was very good as we purchased a couple of cases. To our surprise the red table wine was suburb for the price, even our tour guide bought a case of it. Recommend it highly.

A little out of the way, but then again, aren’t all they all? Just know that when you turn on the little dirt road your gps takes you to, their’s are the vineyards all the way at the end of the road! And its definitely worth the trip!! We loved our “personal” tour and tasting, in fact, we learned more here about the continued aging process in the bottle than we learned on any of our previous vine tour visits. The wine is delicious. We purchased a case to have shipped home to the USA and even though Fattoi was the last place we visited, it is the first of our home deliveries to arrive. Putting those Riservas away but can’t wait to have a reason for a Brunello!

Wonderful tour

This family-owned vineyard is very near where we are staying so this gave an added interest. I did not expect to find it interesting but I was fascinated by the tour. We have booked some other tours but I think this is the wine we will be sending home. We asked around in several wineshops in Montalcino and they all said the same thing about the Fattoi wines: small up-and-coming vineyard making excellent wine at reasonable prices. Apparently the 2010 vintage was very good!

Great wine - inexpensive for the quality
Jun 2016 • Friends
We enjoyed a tour here. It is a family-run operation and we had been looking for a relatively inexpensive Brunello to bring home. We then toured other places and by the time we came back there was no one at home so we ended up buying at Montalcino instead. Pity but if they ship we will buy direct from them. Curious to see how the wine will survive the journey to Ireland. Anyway we will not find out for 7-10 years!

Dear Mr/Mrs, unfortunately we had to work outside for a while this is the reason why you didn't find us again at the winery the second time. We do ship directly so you can send us an e-mail to get more information. I hope to see you soon!

My wife and I ended up here as a booking from the agritourismo we were staying at and we were very glad we did. Lucia was our hostess and she did an excellent job showing us the process and the estate. The brunello 2011 was tasting extremely well and the riserva 2010 was very good for the price point. The Rosso is a god table wine and again very good for its price point. It is obvious they care about their process and results. The winery cat Romeo was about and fun to watch follow Lucia's dad around. Lucia's Mom ran to get some bread for us to try their olive oil (also excellent). We left with a brunello, 2 riserva, 1 olio, and pleased expressions. We will be contacting the distributor in the US upon our return.

Family-run winery
May 2016
We chose to taste at Fattoi because it was a family-run place well off the beaten track. They were open on a Saturday lunchtime though - unlike several others. The young woman who did the tasting (whose grandfather started the business) was extremely well-informed and happy to answer any question about the wines and how they are made. We got a great insight into the many regulations that govern the production of brunello, limiting the quantity and maintaining the quality. We really learnt a lot - had a short tour and bought a few bottles which we shall try to keep, as advised. It was delicious - but I can't pretend to be an expert or to have tasted more than a handful over the weekend - so mine is just a happily inexpert personal opinion.

Wine With an Education
Jul 2015 • Couples
We had the advantage of staying at a Fattoi family-owned home for 3 days last year. We visited the winery and were tremendously impressed with the young lady who gave us the tour. While in the process of being remodeled at the time, we still had an enjoyable and educational tasting. We bought two cases of their delicious wine!

Charming and Enchanting

We were recommended by a sommelier who presented us to the Fattoi wine which we loved. When visiting the estate we were impressed that is it still family owned and run and how artisanal it is. The grandaughter of the founder gave us a tour and hostes our tasting. The whole experience was very pleasant and enriching. Definitely recommend it!
