About
Organic vineyard and winery. Wine tastings and estate tours can be booked all year round on our website, we only close on Sundays. All visits at Col d'Orcia include a tour to discover the estate and the ageing cellars, followed by a tailored wine tasting, that can be accompanied by a light lunch / aperitif or full lunch. Wine tastings start from a minimum of two wines (basic tasting includes our current Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino) onwards. We offer a variety of wines that date back to 1965, and the possibility to experience both vertical and horizontal tastings. The price of the visit depends on the variety and quantity of the wines you are planning to enjoy. If you do not have time to book a visit at Col d'Orcia, feel free to drop by from Monday to Saturday, 8,30 a.m.- 12,30 p.m. and 2,30 p.m. - 6,30 p.m. Book on our website.

During our holidays in Tuscany, we visited the Col d'Orcia winery. We can only say, this is a must visit. We did not announce our visit and despite the fact that they were super busy, they quickly organized a tour through the facilities and production. Lara and the team were really nice to us and also extremely knowledgeable about wines. Somewhere along the way during the wine tasting, the owner of the winery showed up as well. Also a really nice and humble man.
We like the fact that they produce organic wines, as we are big fans of organic products. The Poggio al Vento, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2004 and 2006 were among our favorites during the tasting but also the Brunello di Montalcino 2008. These are really beautiful and in our opinion big Brunellos with great aging potential. We did not check what Robert Parker thinks about these wines but we would give it a 95 for sure. We finally bought a few cases and are now on our way to Switzerland for our next stop during our holidays.

A simply marvelous producer of Brunello and other unique Montalcino wines. Gorgeous, expansive property of very prized land just off of the romantic, enchanting petite hilltop town of Sant Angelo in Colle. Very gracious, informative and educational tasting/tour that is captivating. The wines are simply delicious whether they be new releases (highly rated) or cellar beauties which they have a significant older collection available to purchase. We tasted up to 24 year old Brunello, marvelous Cabernet named Olmaia, and very good Nearco- Cab/Merlot/Syrah blend, Banditella- a single vineyard Rosso, and others. Lovely property, vineyards, structure and especially people. Highly recommend a visit in this picturesque area of acclaim.

As with most places in Tuscany a reservation is strongly recommended, however it is difficult to plan your day around. We found out this place had an actual wine shop for direct sales, so we e-mailed them the morning of just to make sure they were open for selling and unexpectedly Lara replied by offering to give a tour and 3 wine tastings for 15 euro.
We showed up on time after midday break and the door was locked and we called Lara to figure out if we were in the right place. A lady opened the doors and seemed confused as to why we were there, but somewhat reluctantly started pouring us a flight of tastings before eventually figuring out that we had made an appointment for a tour. A male tour guide that was not Lara eventually showed up and we were told that they were waiting on another couple that wanted to tour at the same time... I think we were actually that "other" couple.
The 5 minute tour was not done very well or well rehearsed, but I don't think our guide usually gave the tours and the tasting was rather short with little explanation. There were no prices labeled in the wine shop and after the tasting we had to ask for the price lists... otherwise we would have been buying blindly. The wines were not too remarkable, but we bought a case of table wine and a couple vintage Brunellos as they have quite a collection of affordable older vintages, which is unique.
I was also disappointed that none of our tasting fees were waived after buying 100 euro worth of wine and we were not give the option to share our tasting either. I would have rather bought a bottle of Brunello than done the tour and 3 tastings, plus it seemed like the original lady was going to allow a tasting of all their wines for free in the beginning. While I am grateful that they took us so last minute, I believe our experience would have been better if we had booked much further in advance or skipped the tour entirely and just shown up to buy wine at the shop rather than take the more touristy approach.

Unique opportunity to purchase older vintages of Brunello aged in the winery's cellars. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a beautiful estate, one of the largest in Montalcino, and IMO one of the best. Count Francesco and his staff not only make great wine, they also know how to welcome valued customers who have travelled from a long way to see them. The visit is personal and very informative, tastings are professional and comprehensive, and everyone knows what they are talking about.
If you have time for only one visit in the home of Brunello, make it this one!

Visited Col d'Orcia as part of our own wine tour in the area. Had organised a round trip and tasting. The location is beautiful, the facilities perfect - although the level of activity for obvious reasons is not high in July! The spectre of wines are very appealing and there are great wines at various price levels. Abswolutely worth a visit.

We were very warm welcomed on our first trip to Col d´Orca. We have seen a lot of the production and also the organized wine-tasting was excellent. With explanation of the producing this different sorts of wine, we also get in touch with the Count Cinzano himself. He was a very generously person who was trying to explain a lot of doings around producing wine. He also had answered a lot of questions from us tourists. If there is any chance to let rooms doing vacation there, we will do it.
Our recommendation to All - go there and see the absolutely highlight of Montalcino.

This was our highlight of Montalcino. We had the privilege of meeting Count Cinzano in Singapore and he very generously invited my wife and I to visit his vineyard. Surrounded by rolling hills, his property is breathtaking in an area that is never short of stunning vistas.
A tasting session was extended into a vineyard tour and a lunch in a mountain village that was hosted by the Count himself- accompanied by several old vintages that he took up from his cellars.
Magnificent wines, none more so than their Poggio Vento which highlighted all the subtle power and balance that this great wine expresses.
Bravo to a great vineyard and a great man that is certain to take the label to greater heights!

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting this winery in 2012 and it was stunning. The staff was great, the property just gorgeous and most importantly; the wine spectacular!

Hello,
Is there any way to arrange a car transport to and from our house for this wine tasting? Or, is there a car transport you recommend? We are a party of 9.
Thank you,

Buongiorno a tutti,
