We took the boat from Bellagio to Lenno, and walked the mile from the ferry pier to the villa. This walk takes about 20 minutes, which is good to know if you want to take the ferry back. The villa is absolutely beautiful. The spectacular garden has been the scene in both Star Wars and James Bond movies. Villa del... More

If you come to Lake Como you visit the Villas it's a must. We Visited Villa del Balbianello on our last day in Como and I must say its a delight. We decided to do the garden and house tour and I think it was well worth it. It's location on one of the lakes peninsulas is stunning and I... More

I wanted to visit this Villa and caught a boat taxi across to it which only took about ten minutes. They were regular trips to and from the villa. I decided not to look around the villa but enjoy the lovely gardens instead. It was a beautiful spot with great views of Lake Como. I was also interested in visiting... More

If you're not up to a breathtaking climb then take the shuttle boat at the bottom. I will take you at least 20 minutes. The surfaces are somewhat uneven and you can be very warm in August. The Garden, The Villa and the views are definitely worth the climb.

Amazingly beautiful Villa with gorgeous gardens and landscaping. Very informative tour. We had a great tour guide through the property and saw firsthand the history this Villa holds. The views are amazing of the lake and so is each room as you see the expensive collections, artwork, chandeliers, and expedition room of Guido Mozina. Loved pretending we were James Bond... More

This must be the most beautiful villa on the lake, the position is perfect, the views are amazing, the collection of art is better than some museums. The history of the owners would make a great movie, which is brought to life by some very good guides, you can arrive by boat on a organised visit or walk through the... More

You get a great view of the villa from the lake but I was really glad I decided to actually visit the gardens. We took the ferry from Lenno and walked around the gardens - amazing views, gorgeous! We latched on to a couple of tour guides so got to hear a bit about the history which was interesting but... More

Tip: Go 1st thing in the AM - it gets crowded as the day goes on. When you arrive to Lake Como in general - figure out where you want to go and what you want to see. Buy ferry tickets in advance (they sell out and you don't want to lose time waiting for the next speed Ferry or... More

A spectacular spot that takes a bit of walking to get to but if you are not 13 the walk is fine. You do need to reserve in advance to get into a tour of the inside - otherwise you may have to wait up to an hour or more for one with space. The grounds are not huge so... More

The story behind the villa's last owner is amazing, and the documentary is so fascinating. The gardens themselves are not the most beautiful but the entire experience of walking around the promontory, the way the different parts of the villa sit in the landscape and the views are amazing. But most of all, it is the story of Guido Menzino... More
