- BeanieClifton Park, New York1,321 contributionsA day to rememberWhen my son told me he wanted to propose to his girlfriend on our trip to Italy, I knew the winery was the perfect place to do it. We walked out to the vineyard and we learned about the history of the vineyard. The staff had set up a table with some sparkling wine and when the rest of our group walked away , my son proposed. It was a magical moment. Although I was so excited I barely remember our lunch, I had been at the winery before and know the lunch and wine are fantastic! We ordered wine to be shipped home . Wish I could send food home too!( best ricotta cheese I've ever had). Thank you for the fabulous memory.Visited July 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 17, 2024
- Nicole RoblinLondon, United Kingdom15 contributionsAmazing Experience! My visit started off a bit rocky as I had a spill on my bike. Sonia was so caring and grabbed my plasters and even ice to put on my knee! The wines were amazing and each one had such meaning and heart behind its creation. The food that was served with the tasting was also delicious (mozzarella and pecorino especially) all from their kitchen. I loved walking through their vineyard and seeing the 500 year old vines growing these incredible grapes. The service was incredible and I felt very cared for by Sonia and her family. I would 110% recommend anyone going to Amalfi to visit Tenuta San Francesco during their trip!!Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten September 1, 2024
- HoneybearBlainville, Canada330 contributionsWonderful ExperienceWe had a wine tasting tour at Tenuta San Francesco and it was a great experience. We started by visiting their vineyard and Giuseppe (if I remember correctly) showed us a 500 year old grape vine and it was a very informative tour. Then we had an excellent lunch paired with 4 excellent different wines. The family were very welcoming and we could not have enjoyed it more.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2024

Excellence of the territory. We did a tasting of their most prized labels. The Dr. Bove Gaetano was able to enhance the green heart of the Amalfi coast and made it known everywhere. He accompanied us to the cellar and proudly co-founder of this reality told us the story of the 4 bottles served to us (ED, Per Eva, 4 spines and È iss). I can't help but thank you for the experience you gave us. We hope to return soon because the estate also offers cuisine full of ancient flavors perfect to accompany their wines.

We stopped here for lunch and a tour of the vineyard. What a beautiful and peaceful place run by wonderful people. The tour was very well done and our lunch was one of my favorite meals in Italy with much of the food produced locally in Tramonti. Run by four local partners and their families that pooled their resources to sell wine together. They have some of the oldest surviving vines in Europe at ~500 years old.

Very high-quality wines and a delicious, farm to table lunch in a stunning pastoral setting. Augustino, son of one of the owners, gave a delightful and informative tour of the vineyard and small winemaking operation, then did the wine pouring while his mother cooked and served a hearty four-course lunch from the open kitchen in the heart of the winery. Absolutely charming. Ordered white, red, and rose to ship home.

A thoroughly enjoyable wine experience at this family run vineyard. We were made to feel extremely welcome, served the most delicious home produced food, cooked in our presence by family members. We came away with a few bottles and would definitely recommend this trip.

It's a shame that such a beautiful region, blessed with magnificent places and friendly people, still produces such mediocre spots with a vulgar and incompetent owner. Especially since to get there, you need time but in a beautiful setting it is true
This place should be avoided like the plague. He makes his money by attracting huge groups of Asians who he defrauds copiously.

We reserved a tour of the winery which came with delicious lunch made from local ingredients and excellent wine pairings with each course. Then we were provided a tour of the vineyards and the winery that was both fascinating and entertaining. Additionally, the location is on a hillside with beautiful views of the natural valleys.

Wonderful home made local food paired with good wine from the vineyard. The experience starts with a short tour of their vineyard and cellar, including their ancient grape vines, from there the served a delightful local meal which was well-paired with their wines. We found the white and rose to be very good and the red was from their old vines and tasty. We ordered some to ship home. Highly recommend this very personal experience!

We stopped here on a day trip to Amalfi while staying in Positano, and were so happy that we did. Got to see some of the oldest vines in the world at this beautiful vineyard. The wine itself is very good as well, we all got some bottles shipped home as well. Wonderful and friendly staff here too.

We had a pleasant time visiting for lunch and wine tour. The tour was fairly brief a look at an old vine and walk into the cellar.
The lunch was tasty simple home cooked food. The wine given to taste was all very young and quite tannic.
Overall it was expensive for what was it was. Enjoyable but not good value for money.

My husband and I booked a car to take us to this winery . Small family winery , with a rich history . We felt so honored to enjoy the wine , and be served a delicious lunch . We we’re seated right by the kitchen, and watched it all being prepared . Such a nice family that puts their heart into the customers ! Thanks for a fabulous visit ! Also, ship some wine back home ! Terrific!

Dear Tenure San Francesco:
My name is Aline, I'm with my husband in Salerno and we'd like to make a wine tasting in your vineyard. Is it possible?
How does it work?
How do we get there from Salerno or from Amalfi?
Do we need to make a reservation?
Many thanks,
I'm awaiting your contact.
Kind regards and Best wishes

Dear Alina,
Thank you for contacting us! Sure, it is possible...booking is required. From Salerno you can take a ferry boat TravelMar to Maiori ...if you prefer a Sita bus... and then take a taxi to get to our winery in Tramonti. We organize different “ wine- experiences”...if you send me a message I can send you a file about pur wine-experiences.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Best regards

Can anyone advise what is included in the half day visit please? We have been told there is a half day and a full day tour but we aren't sure if the half day includes a big lunch and wine?
We are going to the vineyard from maiori but it is going to be 80euros return. We are thinking of getting the bus to Tramonti and a taxi from there. Has anyone done this?
Cheers Stacey

You might try to reach them by e-mail. Our hotel actually called them to set up our appointment last year. Good luck!
