If anyone is looking to do something in the immediate area of Kolymbia, we recommend the local Rodos Folklore Museum. It's a quirky little museum with items / relics of Rhodes past, examples of the local flora/fauna, pictures of wildlife etc, and the owner is a really lovely guy with interesting stories - ask him about the time he was chased by a snake! It's €3 entry per person, 12 minutes and air-conditioned. We had a lovely time.

We spent a delightful hour here learning much about the flora and fauna of Rhodes. It was fascinating how many plants were and are still used in medicine.
The owner gives it an extra special touch by explaining things himself, and one can really see his enthusiasm and zeal for Rhodesian culture. There has been a lot of work done to make this quaint museum enjoyable and informative for all. There is a nominal entry fee.
Highly recommend it for everyone except families with children under 5 years of age--too many chances to get hurt for little, wandering fingers.

The owner of the museum was super friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. All photos and artefacts are his own with a gallery available on his website with more. He was very enthusiastic about everything and explained very interesting facts in perfect English. The museum itself is tiny but there is so much to see and learn about, and the location is close to the main eucalyptus street for good food and drinks.

We LOVED our visit to this museum! The owner was an extremely friendly man who gave us wonderful explanations about all the fascinating things in this family owned museum. His family has been collecting these objects for generations! The owner also has amazing knowledge about the plants and animals of Rhodes and us happy to provide loads of information. My daughter and I loved this little place. Small but so much to see and learn. The owner has his ansestors family pictures and artefacts which makes it all the more interesting. We had an impromptu guided tour by the owner which made our visit seem very special. The museum is tucked away at the edge of Kolimbia main streets, so seek this little place out and learn about Rhodean life!

Had a great time here seeing the flora and fauna of Rhodes and the history within the traditional home. Lovely personal anecdotes and stories from the owner and gave real insight into the significant impact of year of occupation has had on the island and it’s families. It’s small but well worth a visit

This museum was an unexpected gem. Beforehand, I wasn't sure what to expect, but once we arrived and started talking to the owner, it was a real treat. Although the museum and nature parts are small, there are a lot of things to look at. Add the passionate commentary of the owner, who's knowledge of everything there is almost limitless, this makes for a lovely hour or two.
