The boat ride was smooth and fast as promised, and the swim at the end of the day very enjoyable. However, the boat crew should take some responsibility to ensure that passengers are seated appropriately and together. They held on to sell every seat on the boat before we left which meant that some passengers, including parents and children, were separated. This was problematic for us on the return journey from Lindos as people arrived back at the boat very early (we were early, but not as early as them) to occupy the seats they wanted which meant that our child didn’t get a seat of her own, which is not acceptable given that we paid for her spot on the boat. Other passengers were unwilling to make the kind offer of moving to enable our child to sit either next to me or my husband, so she ended up sitting on my husband‘s knee for the entire journey. Unless the tour operator starts making child spaces free, the crew should be taking responsibility to ensure that children aren’t separated from parents/guardians or without a seat. We paid for three seats and only got two.
