We had an amazing experience at the Astronomy cafe: a must visit! The location is incredible, at the top of a hill with an amazing view. It’s a nice walk from Faliraki center, or you can take a taxi and you will be there in 5 mins.

We booked the ‘night observation’ for just 8 euro’s per person at 21.30. Because of Covid the groups are small, which is very nice because it feels very personal and you will have a lot of time to look through the telescope. We saw amazing things, stars millions of light years away! During this observation Christina explained everything very well and enthousiastic.

After the observation we told them that we really wanted to see a/some planet(s). We had to wait until 23.00/00.00 before Saturn and maybe Jupiter would be visible. In the meantime we had a cocktail en enjoyed the nice terrace. At 23.00 the owner took us to the second telescope for a private observation. The highlight of the evening: we saw Jupiter and Saturn! So cool!

Really recommend going here when you visit Rhodos! Very cool experience, really friendly people and a beautiful location!

Wow what an experience!! The staff were welcoming, we came about 45 mins before our booking so ordered cocktails and walked around the grounds reading all the facts and looking at the visuals. The actual telescope viewing was incredible, very informative and just mind blowing. We saw some clusters, Saturn and Jupiter and I can’t believe it only cost €8 euros each! Just brilliant, if you are heading to Rhodes, definitely squeeze the Astronomy Cafe into your trip!

A memorable and unique experience. There are a great range of drink with some great cocktails. Great if you're a space fan or not, my girlfriend was apprehensive but loved it! You get to look through the telescope 5/6 times and we got to clearly see Saturn and its rings. Highly recommend for a different holiday activity!

The cafe is walkable from Faliraki around 20 mins. The admission charge covered the mini session. I enjoyed the experience but was left hankering for more information. The session was 20 mins and to be honest you could talk for hours on astronomy and the influence of Greek astronomers. They could do more about horoscopes and the various constellations etc. Overall good visit.

Visted the cafe with a large group and was made to feel unwelcome from when we arrived. Ordered food and drinks (pancakes not the best) waiters (male) very rude and asking the children to sit down when with adults looking at the exhibits. we were asked to sit altogether in one area but not enough room so had to use some other tables and chairs and you could tell they didn’t like this. Asked several times if we could buy tickets and was rudely told to wait until they were ready (no explanation on how or when to purchase tickets for the done). The male waiter continually hovering over us and making the whole group feel uncomfortable and on edge.

The owner then had the audacity to ask a member of the party to move off the chair as they was too big in front of the whole table of people ( bearing in mind this individual had sat there for an over an hour with nothing said) when I spoke to the owner and said how rude he was he got very aggressive went and spoke to another group of people in German about us. Another member of our party approached him and he screamed and pointed and shouted in her face causing a big scene. This Cause huge distress to 13 children as he was threatening them that their parents were going to prison whilst running around threatening to ring the police as he wouldn’t allow us to pay our bill and leave.

whilst he was shouting at other member of our group his staff 2 young ladies were very apologetic for our experience and their bosses behaviour and were embarrassed.

I Definitely avoid and wouldn’t recommend this establishment unless you are awilling for a torrent of abuse by a gruntled owner.

As appears you use the term "rude" in almost all reviews you have posted on tripadvisor in order to describe the places you have visited. I highly doubt that your accusations and criticism about the other businesses you have visited as well as mine are true. The image you convey about my business with your unnecessary comments is not only false but pure defamation, for which of course you are accountable. As can be seen on your profile, wherever you go you are unsatisfied and the only thing you do is to post negative reviews. It seems that your reviews are the mirror of your own inappropriate and obtrusive behavior, not respecting the terms of a private business while disturbing the other attending customers with your own inappropriate behavior at the places you visit. You must know that the Astronomy Cafe exists for a certain niveau of customers and is not a playground. During your visit your party let all children play and run around unattended, contrary to my employees' remarks. In fact, at some point they occupied all other available tables laying on the chairs and couches spreading all four limbs! If this behavior in your eyes is considered appropriate along with insisting on not paying the according bill for food and beverages for around 20 people, so help you God and a good lawyer at some point. I'm sure you will need one.

After going up here last year I thought what a lovely end to finish our holiday !! How terribly wrong I was most of our children were 9 and over the owner doesn’t welcome disabled anybody over 12 stone or over 60 he started screaming in our faces to move off his wicker seating after we’d been there for over an hour sitting on them saying we’d break them there was six family groups with us who on average had already spent over 45 euros on drinks and crepes which were hard and disgusting when asked why he wanted us to move preceded to start screaming like a lunatic .my daughter shouted back at him he then tried to lock us all in and started screaming at his staff to phone the police one of the waitresses started scream we d hit her even though nobody was with in 10 feet of her the children were absolutely terrified he told them we were all going to jail for twenty four hours it was the most terrifying experience I’ve ever had and I’m 61 in our party we had police men with us who tried to carm the situation down the other staff were oppoligetic behind his back proberly afraid they would lose their jobs he is the most obnoxious rude arrogant man I’ve ever have met in my life ITHINK the Greek authorities should investigate into how one man can terrify adults and children in this way I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy STAY AWAY

Absolutely mortified and disgusted by our experience whilst visiting the Astronomy cafe last week whilst on holidays in Rhodes.

A large group of family and friends arrived excitedly to spend the evening here with a large chunk of the group taking a keen interest in the solar system etc. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel uncomfortable as the children were asked to ‘sit by their parents’ bearing in mind they were all of an age where they were happily sitting around a table chatting and laughing amongst eachother causing no harm whatsoever. Some of the adults then proceeded to look at the exhibits and the children followed, and again we were approached by a male member of staff asking the children to sit down. We waited over 40 minutes for our drinks and the crepes were unedible as they were so hard.

When enquiring about the process of purchasing tickets etc we were just told they’d get to us when they could, however we were the first group of people who had arrived there and we were clearly being made to wait as other people had taken preference who had arrived after us.

After approximately an hour and a half of waiting I had taken my daughter to use the lavatory and my husband approached me clearly upset as the manager had asked him to move seats due to his size. This had happened in full view of the other customers. My sister in law who was sitting on the next table had told the owner that he was out of order and very rude as my husband had been sitting there for a long time with no issues with the chair. He then proceeded to discuss the issue with a couple, pointing to our group and staring. My other sister in law asked him politely not to talk about us to others to which he walked over and started shouting extremely loudly in her face. She was clearly startled by this and asked everybody in the group to leave due to the appalling service and attitudes of all involved.

We asked for our bills to pay and leave, however the owner became very violent screaming and threatening the adults with the police stating we’d ‘all be locked up in a cell’. All of the children were traumatised, screaming and shaking grabbing hold of their parents begging to go home to their ‘real homes’. Two of the female waitresses were very apologetic for his behaviour during this and assisted us to pay our bills individually which made me think that this was not the first time something like this had happened. We started to walk back to the car park, this was however before he attempted to lock us in via the barrier, running back and forth on his mobile phone still making reference to the police upsetting the children even further.

I have never been so disgusted in my whole entire life as to how they made the children feel, which included my daughters. They will have this memory for a long time and spoilt the remaining days of the holiday as they kept making reference to the police and talking about the ‘nasty man’. I would recommend this establishment to people if you fancy a night of insults and threats. If there were an option to rate this below terrible I would 100% rate at that! Disgusting

I was so looking forward to visiting here and having a meal and drink. On arrival having walked there up a very steep hill, we went to the bar and were told to go and sit down and we would be served. Sat down, the same guy came by three times, moving tables and chairs, we asked again he told us to wait and then asked us to move to another table as someone wanted to sit where we were, We obliged and moved to a bar in Faliraki.

Myself and my partner were stopping in Pefkos last week. We could not leave the island without visiting this place. So much so we did the following:

Paid for car hire (2 days) €60
Fuelled the car €20
Booked a hotel in Faliraki €70
Taxi to and from the Astronomy Cafe €16

Total spent to visit this: €166

There was a little but not significant amounts of cloud, certainly not enough to scupper the chances of seeing some fantastic sights. The sun had been beaming all day.

When we excitedly arrived at the cafe, we exited our taxi and headed into this attraction that we had built up such an excitement for.

CLOSED DUE TO BAD WEATHER. Yes, that's what a little A4 sign said on the gate. Considering these guys are experienced with astronomy, they certainly do not know weather!.

Myself and my partner were extremely gutted, disappointed that we had invested so heavily to visit this place. We checked their Facebook, we checked their website and there was absolutely no mention of a closure for "bad" weather.

We have now returned to the UK and can certainly say, if we return to Rhodes, we will not visit this place.
