    Interesting and fun!
Amazing. Definitely recommend. Cocktails were great and a good price, we got free snacks (popcorn) and everything was well presented with herbs from the garden. We went at night so only saw the garden in the dark but even so it looked amazing. The time in the dome with the astronomer was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and funny. We saw a lot despite some of the conditions not being at their best, and some objects at their furthest point from the the earth. We all came away with a moon photo taken through the telescope. The staff were kind and helpful and even pushed our slot back slightly so we could finish our drinks. Be ready for an uphill walk (on a road so tiring but not too bad) or arrange to drive up.

Highly recommend adding to your list of must dos if visiting Rhodes
Had a great visit to the astronomy cafe this morning (me, my husband and 5 year old) for the solar observation. The astronomy garden has a beautiful view and is full of interesting interactive things through which you can learn about planets, constellations etc. My son was entertained. The observation itself was very interesting with good explanations provided by the enthusiastic stergos. He took photos of the sun as we saw it this morning and emailed them to me shortly afterwards. Unfortunately the recent bad weather has had an impact on visitor numbers as the ability to see is clearly affected by weather. Lucky for us we had a good view this morning. I would highly recommend a visit and would be interested in going to the lunar observation (it’s a little past our child’s bedtime at present).

    Good experience
Great experience for something a bit different one evening whilst on holiday. We visited with friends and had a 30 min slot to look through the telescope at various stars and the moon, which we got a picture of. Really good knowledge and interesting experience. Had some great cocktails also - really well presented with ingredients from their garden. Friendly staff and easy to get there with a taxi (steep hill up if walking).

Quirky place with great cafe and amazing observatory and telescope views of the sky
We had booked a viewing of the skies several days before. The drive up is interesting as steep and winding. Parking available when you get there. The cafe and surrounding are is stunning. The owner has arranged exhibits and almost artistic pieces around the headland. This is a quirky place and lovely to find something so unique. Cafe serves drinks and some food and there are tables outside. The view is superb. We had a drink and then our time slot came up at 9.30 pm. A bell is rung and we made our way up steps to the observatory. I have some mobility issues but the steps had railings. There were approx 12 people inside. The owner was very helpful and explained what we were seeing and use a laser to show the location in the sky. I was offered a chair as the observatory moves to see different parts of the sky. It was a most wonderful experience. Highly recommended weather as a cafe or for the sky experience.

A surprisingly wonderful attraction in Rhodes
I was very surprised that such an attraction is located in Rhodes especially since I have been to Rhodes before. It is a great experience for amateurs, astronomy lovers. We had the opportunity to see Venus and Mars (due to their distance as small points) and stars closer to Earth. We were most impressed by the sighting of the Moon (it is best to arrive in the first or third quarter of the Moon). The owner was prepared for the presentation. The only thing I didn't like was the better treatment for guests from Germany. The owner talked more in German than in English. The guests from Germany had several photos of the moon taken with their phones, for me only one photo was taken. Nevertheless, a very valuable experience. I recommend it, it is really worth it. I will also refer to the earlier comments. Those booking a screening in advance must expect a sudden change in the weather. The weather can be different on the two sides of the island. It is a good idea to call 1 hour before you arrive and make sure that the conditions for sightings are favorable.

    Absolutely amazing!
This place was the highlight of my holiday in Rhodes, I have never seen anything like it before! The people are so welcoming, the decor and grounds are just stunning! In the observatory you have access to incredible equipment to view the stars and a very Knowledgeable guide talking you through it. Best 10 euros I have spent since I arrived, we travel home tomorrow and this was a fantastic, perfect end to a wonderful holiday. Highly recommend this place don’t leave Rhodes without coming here! Thank you to the staff for a wonderful evening ❤️

Unusual, fascinating gem of an attraction
It’s location perched on top of a hill on the coast next to Anthony Quinn bay is perfect for star gazing. Run by a highly knowledgable and dedicated man for whom Astronomy is a passion, small groups get to enter the observatory dome and are given a 30 minute tour of some key features in that night’s sky. The venue is really nicely landscaped with lots of information on display. Booking is recommended, though we booked during the afternoon for the same evening. The cafe serves some food (basic pizzas and freshly made crepes) as well as cocktails drinks and desserts. It’s technically accessible by a trail which leads up from Anthony Quinn, but in reality there are parts which require scrambling over rocks next to a sheer drop, so should only be attempted by confident and able bodied walkers! Great views back down to the bay though. A longer but probably safer walk will get you there via roads and there’s a car park if you’re going by car. One small piece of advice worth noting: wear insect repellant.

    A lovely evening out
What a fun evening! At 10 euros a great, we went to the observatory and were able to look through the telescopes with instructions. The guide's English was excellent and he was very informative. Would definitely recommend! They have a cafe with food and drink, toilet facilities and a cute little garden with more stuff to read, like a mini museum. Plus, their local cat is adorable.

We had an amazing experience at the Astronomy cafe: a must visit! The location is incredible, at the top of a hill with an amazing view. It’s a nice walk from Faliraki center, or you can take a taxi and you will be there in 5 mins.

We booked the ‘night observation’ for just 8 euro’s per person at 21.30. Because of Covid the groups are small, which is very nice because it feels very personal and you will have a lot of time to look through the telescope. We saw amazing things, stars millions of light years away! During this observation Christina explained everything very well and enthousiastic.

After the observation we told them that we really wanted to see a/some planet(s). We had to wait until 23.00/00.00 before Saturn and maybe Jupiter would be visible. In the meantime we had a cocktail en enjoyed the nice terrace. At 23.00 the owner took us to the second telescope for a private observation. The highlight of the evening: we saw Jupiter and Saturn! So cool!

Really recommend going here when you visit Rhodos! Very cool experience, really friendly people and a beautiful location!

This cafe is so worth a visit, very interesting learning about our planets and stars. I would recommend you book the presentation which is only 10 euro for 30 mins.
The host is so informative. He explains everything very well, and you get the opportunity to look at the stars through the telescope. The grounds of the cafe is great fun with loads to see.

The cafe is walkable from Faliraki around 20 mins. The admission charge covered the mini session. I enjoyed the experience but was left hankering for more information. The session was 20 mins and to be honest you could talk for hours on astronomy and the influence of Greek astronomers. They could do more about horoscopes and the various constellations etc. Overall good visit.

My 13 year old granddaughter didn't really want to visit the Astronomy Cafe but it turned out to be her favourite part of the holiday. We booked the 9.00pm visit to the observatory where we were able to see the rings of Saturn, Jupiter and much more. We were invited to return a few days later to see the solar eclipse free of charge. The owner emailed us the images too. They had good food and drinks too. If you've not got a car prepare for a hill walk.

Came up tonight , quite difficult to find but thank goodness for Google Maps. Chose the 10pm night viewing (30 mins in observatory) and arrived half an hour early and had a drink (can heartily recommend the Bloody Moon cocktail) Clear instructions to listen to the bell for our turn. 8 of us in the observatory and the gentlemen told us about the stars we were about to see, he was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about it, each taking turns to look through the telescope. Ended seeing Saturn and its rings.....wow!!
The laser was stunning to watch. Best €10 each spent in a while. Can wholeheartedly recommend if you have transport to get there.

Wow what an experience!! The staff were welcoming, we came about 45 mins before our booking so ordered cocktails and walked around the grounds reading all the facts and looking at the visuals. The actual telescope viewing was incredible, very informative and just mind blowing. We saw some clusters, Saturn and Jupiter and I can’t believe it only cost €8 euros each! Just brilliant, if you are heading to Rhodes, definitely squeeze the Astronomy Cafe into your trip!

This is such a good experience. We went for the night observation having booked tickets on the internet. Everything is so well run, you come in to the lovely reception/bar area and they print your ticket for you and ask if you would like a drink. Some lovely cocktails on offer! Then move outside to the seating which is wonderful, very atmospheric with a number of space related exhibits to walk around. Comfy seats, relaxing music, mood lighting and the odd sleeping cat will pervade you. Then on to the observation, our knowledgeable host will take you into the rotating dome and use the state of the art equipment for some star gazing. We saw several constellations and a wonderful view of the moon - the host will take your mobile phone and make a fantastic, studio-like image for you to keep. We were lucky enough to see Saturn, my what a beautiful thing. The observation is 30 minutes or so, just the right amount of time. This place is fantastic, it deserves all the success it gets.
