we enjoyed a walk on the beach and I went swimming, cool but not frigid in March, we had the place all to ourselves in March (no one else visible for a mile in each direction...)

We took a taxi here from Imerovigli. Felt like the end of the earth. So quiet and mellow. The sand was burning hot on the feet as we ran to the ocean. Good little bars for getting a little drink and snack. Sand is different...More

Great place to relax and enjoy the sea in the black sand. It also has water sports to do and places to eat something.

We took the bus from Fira to Perissa. As it was winter, we didn't take a dip. Enjoyed the view and the feel of the sand. And took a 10 minutes walk out to Santa Irini bakery. Love the goodies there.

We spent time here in September 2017. The beach had plenty of places to sit and access to cafes. We wore rock shoes as the sand and rocks are a bit rough. It was lovely being able to dine at restaurants right on the beach.

The black sand beach at Santorini is quite unique and very picturesque. There are decent shops and restaurants nearby. Altogether, it is worth visiting.

We didn’t rent a car because the bus is so easy to use. We went from Perissa Beach, to Fira and then to Oía, all with the bus and it was like 2-3 euros each way. Very easy and didn’t have to bother with driving

The boat trips are leaving from the port. Ususlly will have a transfer from your hotel or from a pick-up point, arranged by the travel office who sold you the boat trip.

I don’t think it’s walkable. Take a bus to a junction, there’s a walk to the lighthouse.
