Meating Group is an awarded- boutique butcher shop in Platanias Chania. For 7 decades, since its establishment in 1949, is making memories around the table. In 2018, Meating Group won the Award for the Best Burger Product, in the World Butchers’ Challenge, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Our target is to create state of the art meat and food products based on tradition and high-quality standards.

This is not like any ordinary butchers, the range of meats is awesome and of the highest quality. We had two BBQs with a selection of meats from here and we not disappointed. Steaks were quality, the pork succulent and the range of salad and sundries were beautiful. A very modern business with really helpful staff. If your having a BBQ then definitely visit here.

We are a family of meat lovers and connoisseurs of meat. We have travelled the world trying meats and poultry and I can confirm this operation is absolutely fantastic in quality, choice and creativity. As BBQ experts we spend a lot of time trying different techniques of preparing meat including open flame cooking. Meating Group really is the place to be if you want the fine meats and cuts. Nothing is a problem for the butcher team and and special requests they fulfil with pleasure.
If you are a visitor or a regular in Chania that just loves meat and its preparation visit the establishment. Keep it up!

Fantastic butcher in Platanias, we always go here when we are having a bbq or making something special. They have a incredible large and delicious assortment. The staff is so service minded and cut the meat however you want

WOW!!! what an awesome place to visit. My friends and I were just blown away by this butchers shop. It is located just behind the main street of Agia Marina tucked away where you would least expect to find a butchers shop and lucky for us it was only a five minute walk from our villa.
The assortment of meats, fresh produce, store cupboard essentials just everything you would want or need.
The staff were very good and when we decided to have barbecue roast lamb but required it boned and butterflied they could not have been more helpful even though we didnt speak any greek.
The meating group really made our holiday as being in a villa we wanted to do our own cooking and the food was just so incredible. We had never seen chicken kebabs the size of the ones we brought, they were tasty succulent and just lovely.
We tried the burgers that have been voted the best burgers in the world at the worlds butchers challenge in 2018 ans we could see why.
All in all just an awesome place and one where we were very pleased to have had the pleasure of visting.

The Meating Group is the hidden gem of Platanias if you prefer to cook/bbq and prepare your own food. Their meat selection is diverse, freshly cut and beautifully displayed. We had the local smoked sausage, lamb chops, pork chops and delicious hamburgers. All were scrumptious! Moreover, they have fresh fruit, vegetables and cheese selections. Finally, their staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you Meating Group.

You will find a large range of top quality meats, including a section where the meat has been marinaded and is BBQ ready, and various types of sausages.
There are also salamis and cheeses.
In the central isle you will find herbs and spices, Himalayan salt, fresh eggs etc.
One wall is devoted to beans, lentils and pulses and a small freezer section, with fish etc
Separated at the from of the shop is a fruit and vegetable section. Often vegetables you cannot get elsewhere are stocked e'g' parsnips, when in season.
The whole shop is clean, light and airy. The staff are very helpful and will give advice on cuts and how to cook your selection.
