This place is amazing and well worth a visit. The town has a selection of small shops and the panorama from the town is wonderful. The Ochre Sands Cliffs are a must but there are a lot of steep steps which are not suitable for...More

What a beautiful village...the cliffs seem to be lit from within, when the sun shines upon them. There are many art galleries, local crafts and paint pigments are sold in many shoppes for those who paint. Beautiful old cemetery behind a parking area was quite...More

Up a ridge, sits the lovely town of Roussillon. Rather distinct with its ochre hues as opposed to the paler stone elsewhere in Provence. The brilliant colors take on a striking appearance towards evening with the sun on it. The color of the earth is...More

We stopped here via car on our trip around Provence. Wow! What a beautiful town to spend a few hours roaming around. Charming, with gorgeous, unique buildings and terrific views of the ochre.

Beautiful place, especially at night with the lights. Good hike up the hill and places to eat and see the view.

As we were bypassing we stopped at Roussillon to view the ochre cliffs. This is one of the sweetest little villages in Provence. We so enjoyed our stroll through and wished we had been there during a meal time. Great restaurants.

Together with "Le Sentier des Ocres", the "Chaussée des Géants" is part of the visit to Roussillon. Best in the afternoon, when the ochre hues are enhanced by fading sunlight.

The chausee together with a visit of the site is nice during sunny and hot days. The trees allow some shadow and the walk can be extended to 2 hours of looking, taking photos or just enjoying the views.
