Late afternoon in Roussillon : Spectacular "Ocre" color village . A lot of beautiful ocre colored houses , shops galleries and cafes . Two stunning lookouts (belvederes) : One near "Les Sentier des Ocres" , second - further up from Eglise Saint-Michel , behind the "Gallery des Ocres" . Another must see , unique village . Roussillon is a small village in southern France (Provence). Set at the top of a hill, its buildings, houses and walls display hues typical of the local ochre mines (another must-see program - one can walk through them). Another full-day program, but the best view of the village is under the sunset light.

This village stands out from the rest of the villages in Luberon with its ochre colour hilltop cliffs. Must see and photograph village. Recommend parking down below and walking up through the streets to see the different coloured houses.

This village should be visited by everyone who loves beauty. The setting and colors of the earth are matched by those of the town, a protected monument for 80 yr.

Been there at the evening - village and it's hills were so beautiful during the sunset. It was almost empty...without a tourists. Parking was free after 7pm.

Rustic, colorful hilltop town visible from long distance as its red-ocher cliffs and village structures set it off quite well. The town itself is much like others in Provence---small shops, wonderful cafes and restaurants, fantastic views of the countryside and warm ' engaging residents.

We kept seeing this village from a distance as we drove around Provence, since the red-rocked cliffs are hard to miss. We finally made it here on market day and thoroughly enjoyed the town. While the market is small compared to many others in the area, there are plenty of shops, art galleries and cafes to compensate. The views of... More

A gorgeous village, that has buildings coloured from the local sand. Around every corner is a picture opportunity. Lots of quaint shops & cafes abound.

Accidentally ended up in the quaint village by driving around and exploring in Provence, and what a find! It's absolutely stunning! The ocre mounts all around the place as well as the colors of the houses in the village are just inspirational for any artist. You feel like erecting your easel, getting a canvas out and start to paint. Loved... More
