Amazing view!

Amazing view over the gorge and beautiful landscapes. A winding road, a little bit scary but totally worth the trip!

The Route des Cretes with its "Belvederes" is absolutely amazing and offers mesmerizing and unforgetable views on one f the greatest canyons of this planet. If you are lucky you might even be able to observe some climbers performing their vertical ballet!

This place is beatiful! There are lots of places where you can get out of the car and admire the view. Every time we stopped we were fascinated by the views.

We spent almost a full day driving this route. There are 21 scenic stops and I think we stopped at all of them! The views and sceneries are just fantastic! We did not do any hiking this time but we will for sure be back and do that next time!

I don't know what people are talking about "white knuckling it" it etc... I guess these people must have a specific fear of heights, because the road itself is really wide relative to other roads in the area, which I found much scarier than this one. It might be tricky when there is traffic from the other side - because... More

This is a breathtaking drive on very good (and mostly reasonably wide) roads with excellent parking viewpoints dotted along the way. And being a closed loop from La Palud sur Verdon the only traffic is there to enjoy the scenery - unlike the Artuby and Castellane roads which are still worth doing but much busier. Also make sure to stop... More

The Verdon Gorge is a natural wonder not to be missed if you are visiting southern France. It is really worth spending a whole day driving around the loop that starts from the Lake of Sainte-Croix, going through the villages of La Palud-sur-Verdon, Rougon, Trigance, the bridge of Artuby, and Aiguines. You will have plenty of chances to stop and... More

Because of the dogs, we couldn't walk in the Gorges. An alternative is the route by car. Especially routes des cretes gives you chills! You can see the Eagles in the sky.

Now this you can't and must not miss! Breathtaking! It's always compared to the grand canyons USA. Well I have not visited that one. But this one is in Provence - France and it is Beautiful! Plus you can watch eagles or vultures entertaining you in the sky!!
