RAPPENLOCHSCHLUCHT and ALPLOCHSCHLUCHT
Aug 2020 • Solo
I have visited gorge during weekend in the morning. I love to spend time in nature and enjoy peaceful moments alone but despite of going at 10am there were already some people and by the time I was walking back there were really many people on the way. I guess I would recommend to chose day during the week days or if really during weekend try to start in the morning. If crowd does not bother you then go ahead later.
I found Alplochschlucht really amazing and magic! I loved it so much and was lucky to be there almost alone. If you decide to visit Rapepnlochschlucht just keep walking to Alplochschlucht which is really the place to be!

Best views from TRIP have been posted on YouTube channel HSN Healing Sound of Nature 💕 with title “Rappenlochschlucht und Alplochschlucht Dornbirn Bergwanderung Grand Canyon Vorarlbergs - Austria”.

There are as well 2 videos dedicated to nature sound:

Alploch is place to be
Aug 2020 • Couples
The Google address leads you to the parking spot directly after the rolls Royce museum. Note that you have to pay for parking (2,30 EUR for full day). From there you almost directly enter the Rappenlocht gorge. It has a lot of stairs but further it is an easy walk. You have a good view from above on the water but because of the draught there wasn't much. The rappenlocht part was not that impressive. It isn't a real gorge as we have seen thus far and not that natural. A lot has been made. At the end there is lake. Walk around it and you will pass a kiosk. At the back of the kiosk you can walk the Alplochschlucht. That is what a real gorge looks like. Small, impressive, dark, moist. Just beautiful. The path is well maintained and easy to walk. We walked the same way back as we came. On slow pace with taking a lot of pictures it took about 2 hours.

Disappointment
Jul 2020
During our many journeys in Austria we visited many gorges. This one was definitely the worst one. It was not interesting because you can not go allong the water. You can see the gorge only from above. There were too many people there. The small lake in the upper part of the georgeis not worth seeing - surrounded by road with car traffic.

Relaxing Forest Hike with Adventurous Trails
Oct 2019
Rappenlochschlucht got a wonderful atmosphere - a perfect mixture of green forest trails, walks close to small lakes and rivers and even fastened wooden trails at cliff sides. Especially the wooden cliff trails made it adventurous and unique. In general, the whole trail was easy and manageable without any professional hiking equipment. All this makes it a perfect spot for beginners.
The trail will take you roughly 1,5 hours. But you can also lengthen it by hiking Mount Tegelberg from there.

Spectacular
Oct 2019
I knew from the photos I saw before I travelled to Dornbirn that I wanted to visit this landmark. If you are coming here I recommend the number 47 bus from Dornbirn station. The gorge was worth the journey. I was amazed by the size and beauty of the all rivers, rocks and trees. Autumn is coming and the golden colours of the leaves were just starting to come thorough. It was spectacular. I decided to take the route round the Kraftwerk Ebensand then up to Karren but I warn you it was tough going taking almost 3 hours and I was not prepared nor did I have sensible shoes.

A beautiful walk .
The 187 steps on the way did mot make it very easy but on the whole it was an hour walk and a very relaxing one.

Gorgeous scenery
Jul 2019 • Family
Our family enjoyed this walk together. It was a really hot day so walking in the shade for part of it was lovely. Whilst we did see some people, we walked a lot of it on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Nature, Nature, and more Nature!
Jun 2019 • Couples
Austria is known for its beautiful landscapes. In general, wherever you go, natures are everywhere!
You can park the car near the Krippen museum, is paid parking, be sure your parking ticket is visible behind the windshield to avoid fines.
The first part of the walk is a bit upwards, but the rest is flat. There are a few waterfalls to see during the hike. If nature is the purpose never missed this place if you are in the area — a highly recommended for the nature lover.

Beautiful easy hike for a hot day
Jun 2018 • Friends
The hike is amazing as it is in the shade so can be enjoyed on hot days. You get beautiful views and it is a nice and easy hike. It is mostly flat with a very moderate uphill and a couple of stairs.

Great walk in and out, highly recommend it. Not difficult for the average walker. Go early to beat the crowds.
