This is my favorite hike of 3 most popular climbs in El Valle. The first stop on the trial is the Piedra Pintada, pre-Colombian petroglyphs. From there it is about a 15 minute climb of moderate difficulty to the first of three levels of beautiful...More

We loved the walk to the sleep-ins Indian. On the way to the top you pass waterfalls in which you can swim. If there had been rain, be aware of the tact that it can be slippery. The view on top is beautiful and worth...More

This is an amazingly beautiful hike especially if you go the free way which takes you straight up to La India Dormida and then down through the jungle, past some wateralls and finally to La Piedra Pintada.

Incredibly steep, at times the path wasn't marked at all with various forks or options. Our hotel directed us to walk down from the parking lot and then approach the mountain from the "head" of the sleeping girl. That was fine if not a bit...More

Great uphill hike. A bit strenuous at times, especially reaching the summit. Recommend hiring a guide at the entrance to the trail since there are forks in the trail with no clear markings. Great view from the top and nice waterfalls and natural swimming pools...More

Though there were a few signs we couldn't figure out how to get to the trailhead when driving around. If somebody could clearly explain how you get to the start of the hike I would really appreciate it. I did end up driving up the...More

The hike of La India Dormida is moderate and the view at the top is well worth it. Going in the dry season and early in the morning is probably better for visability.

This is a hike worth taking, especially if you are in shape and like to hike. It is long and steep and actually difficult. The trail is good and if you stop and relax you can see and hear a lot of birds. Bring lots...More
