Incredible beach with gorgeous views. Surf board rental available for $10 for 24 hours. It was our first time surfing and we actually stood up, so I consider that a success!

I walk along this beach every morning. There is no garbage, the waves are nice, and it's generally a very pretty walk. Lots of people surfing and having a nice time. It's laid back and not overcrowded.

Playa Hermosa is slightly north of Playa Santa Teresa. It is a longer beach and much, much less crowded. Although it also is a favourite with surfers, it also is great for couples or families seeking a quieter ambience closer to nature, since the area...More

Great surf. Long, slow pitch to the beach. Great for kids of all ages. Great place for beginning surfers and more experienced wave riders as well. The sand is powder soft. Scenery is breathtaking. Local vendors have woven bracelets and baskets and coconut water available....More

Playa Hermosa is a beautiful sandy beach, without too many people so we all had room to spread out. My husband and I set up our hammocks in the palm trees at the edge of the beach, and I went out and played in the...More

Here we were all able to learn to surf! The 3 year old played on the beach, while the 9 to 72 year olds surfed!

After having a look at all the beaches along this area, I was so happy to be staying at Playa Hermosa. For a solo traveler and an intermediate surfer looking for a quieter destination, it was perfect for me. I was blessed with 2 -...More

Always bring water, it is hot. You can only get around by 4x4 and quads or ATVs are best. There are places in town that rent if your accommodations does not. The food is excellent! Everything is farm to table no matter where... More

Playa Hermosa is a short distance (3-4 miles north of Santa Teresa) off of the main road. Look for a small sign on the left that says "Colors" sort of faded. Take that left on rough road to ocean and Playa Hermosa (about 1/2... More
