Playa Santa Teresa is wide, clean and has some good breaks for starting surfers. The sunsets are amazing as well. However, Santa Teresa is pretty touristy and all the time you are at the beach drug dealers / pickpockets will be keeping an eye on...More

surf & yoga retreat during low season (Nov), was perfect. Not crowded, good waves, santa teresa atmosphere is very low key, yet you can find good accommodations & nice restaurants, and you are surrounded by nature ( monkeys !)

I visited at the end of July 2015, it is a large, vast, and majestic beach! Not very crowded in the area where we were, the sand is soft and the water is fun to swim in. There is not much shade, but we were...More

What a great place to spend some time doing nothing! Except, don't come here if well maintained roads are and issue for you. The roads are bad! But, the beaches, the people, the food are more than worth a new set of shocks, but hey,...More

We've stayed at a nice place along this beautiful stretch of beach, and will surely return. What I love about it is the clean sand, wild waves, and beautiful scenery looking south towards Malpais. There's little commercial activity besides the one restaurant at the beginning,...More

Beautiful beaches! Rocky in places, so be careful where you decide to swim. We found that the short walk to Playa Hermosa was better for swimming!

I would suggest playa Hermosa. it's just north of Santa Teresa. the beaches right at Santa Teresa break right on the beach and to catch the waves you have to go out quite a ways which can be intimidating for beginners. playa... More

October is really not the best time to go. Yes a lot of rain, and sometimes the roads are washed out from the heavy rain. The business are not all open since it is low season.
